How often do you listen to your instincts?

Do you play only ABC poker or you can make some insane moves like 3-bet with 8-2off and flop a full house? Sometimes, I have the feeling, that I have to play exactly in that way, it looks so stupid from outside, but often it gives great results.
What about you, folks?

I listen to my instincts quite a lot but I also pay close attention to my opponents too so that helps me make a decision as well.

I can say that I have never had a feeling that 82o was going to flop the nuts, and played accordingly. I've seen it happen a number of times, but always with cards that I chose not to play.

If I had that kind of instinct and luck I'd be a millionaire by now.

I like to change it up once in awhile,,,i`ll play tight one day and another i`ll play 80% of hands,,,bluffing,4-bets.It`s fun and if you get a good run of cards,you can really get a big stack and make a deep run.

(plus we all know PS rewards aggression)

This example has nothing to do with insticts, its just the variance of the game. Someone had a bad day, 3-bet when he shouldnt and actually hits a board. Can it happen? Yes! Is he a good player because of this? Offcourse not. He will loose most of the time.
Reminds me a bit of a evening when i started with poker and played completely drunk, shoving 72o getting called by AA and hitting 772 on the flop. Couldnt believe it. Busted 10 hands later tho, because i played like a maniac.

As for me personaly I dont like to use my gut to make decisions. Sometimes when there is a close spot i actually have to, but thats allways as a last resort.

i try to not listen to my gut but sometimes i get a very strong feeling of wanting to call and then its like 50/50 if i do or dont when i dont i often get a flush or better and am crying on the inside

I think analyzing your opponents play is much more effective than playing by instinct. Studying opponents tendencies is a much more reliable way to play.

i will say i have to use my instinc as much as i can. becouse only player that give attention on the table can work with theyr instinc. if we not give attention on the table instinc is not avalaible i think.

Yes, it happens to me that I feel or I am sure that I will get the necessary hand to win. Somehow put 66,666 chips in the tournament having 3 9, and the opponent went all-in - I decided to answer, because I still have about 20,000 chips left. I thought everyone folded wanted to steal the blinds and he showed AA, but I was sure that I should win on the flop 3 3 9 on the turn A on the river 3.

In my opinion, the best way to play is with aggression, even playing with bad cards, for simply scaring the opponent, but always knowing when you have won the pot and simply doing fold

My question is where is the line between intuition and decision making. Are you making a 50/50 call because you’ve ran through all info and came to a decision or is it intuition based on that info.
