How you react to players who like to insult during the game?

Players who talk smack and insults don't really bother me. I usually just ignore it. If it's funny I'll wb lol🙂

As most here. Just ignore. Most don't understand why you played your 89s when you had 4 others limp in and more than likely never will.

Most of the time I ignore, but sometimes I love to tease tilting people, I can't not to!

It's amazing how through poker you get to understand the psychology of many samples of people! online poker should be a field for psychiatric studies!

Anyway, that's always funny when someone can't get to you on the table and tries to get to you with words!

I just ignore them but when I tack there chip's haha it's time to start laughing, the majority of them are losers with no education

I try to beat them and then just type hahaha. They will will tilt for sure and then they are an easy fish. I actually like having those at the table. �� Even posting haha when they lose to someone else is enough to make them tilt. Just be aware that they will get focus on you and will start block betting you. Just make sure to only play premium hands then.

Those players tend to bluff a lot. Patience will often be rewarded when sitting with these folks.

I see it all the time,at first it made me mad,but now I just ignore,even though it's not always towards me,just players being intimidating,you know,ignore and they will leave

It depends on how I'm feeling whether I react or not. I admit I used to let rip all the time.

I never close the chat. I like to read it all. But then I am only a casual player.

If i'm playing multiple tables or playing meaningful stakes definitely #1, save the thinking for the poker playing and don't give any fuel to them

If i'm 1 tabling and the person has shown to be a big donator in the game, then I may opt to egg them on a little bit to fuel the fire. The key in this spot is that I have position on them and that I'd be the likely benefactor of their overly aggressive play.

I don't pay any attention on them. And try to ignore agressive players and their agressive comments.

I tend to disagree with this ^
Firstly, a player who chooses to insult typically has a problem with emotions... and.. good players will typically do not insult others on the table. (although.. there is 'Phil Helmuth'... )... but 'some' do.. occasionally.

I have a feeling that this doesn't pertain to why OP is being insulted on the tables. I have a strong feeling it is because of OP's bad play (call it a hunch... or something).

My suggestion, ignore the comments DURING the game.. but perhaps for your own benefit, take a closer look at the hands where you were receiving criticism /insults. There just might be an opportunity for you to learn from them.

ie. in 1st level, min-raise 3-betting in utg1 over a utg raise while holding A9s & while sitting on a table with many calling stations is not going to be +ev for you. This is VERY poor bet-sizing. (can you see why?... hint > it accomplishes nothing as it doesn't build a pot, it doesn't give you position, it doesn't limit the number of players calling (it actually entices many of them to call)
Then leading into the pot once checked to, with a 2bb bet = 1/10th pot, in a 5-way hand on an AJX rbo flop... probably isn't going to accomplish much.... and then compounding this by calling UTG's 'check-raise' to 3/4 pot (at this point.. what hand(s) could we be POSSIBLY beating????... as Tony Dunst would say on WPT.. "Let's break it down"
think about UTG's opening range in early levels.
think about what range of hands they would Check-raise in 'that' spot in a multiway pot (5-handed!)... into 4other players who have ALL called the C-bet (even if it was only 1/10th the pot... seeing as you've given them odds to draw to 2outs).
On a blank turn card, UTG fires out again & once again you make the call. What hands are we beating there in this spot? What hands would lead into us there that we are ahead of? Would KK do this? (umm.. 'no')... would AJ? (top2).. umm.. yup)... AT? (maybe they'd just x/C... that is if AT even opens from UTG in 1st level). ... Maybe a pr. that flopped a set ?
With the A9 in that spot you are basically hoping to hit 3outs on the river... meaning you only have a 6% chance (vs. 94% likely for villain) to win the hand... but even then there's a chance you're actually drawing dead vs. AJ (the AJ might make sense there).

I have turned off chat not to be distracted during the game.

If they insult, I will let them know what I think about them, turn the chat off. And if it is live I will insult them back passively, not making a big scene.

i pretty new to poker, first i hurt feelings, very upset by rude players call me all kind of vile names
example: "i say hi GL everyone..." a player say to me: "shut the F up, play you dumb c**t"
i not enjoy being called a fish, donkey, whale, idiot, etc
geeze it horrible enough usually lose my monies - then on top that - players insult me?

pushing buttons

I usually ignore them but if I am bored I will push their buttons because I need some entertainment I will also take notes for future use .

Don't see need to feed the abuser, turn off chat

First, if I'm playing poker, no time for chat, I leave it off. Second, if a player is being a bully, playing crazy, that is another issue. I am not into confrontation, if it's not a friendly or neutral atmosphere, it's not poker, no entertainment value.

I usually don't mind but I think I'm lucky because I think I have a think skin but if it's malicious towards someone I usually say something

They are usually loose with their tongue and their chips. This is an advantage you can exploit.
If you take offense, mute them.

Personally it doesn't bother me. I know some people try to use that to there advantage to throw other people off their game. It's all a part of poker, there are no rules against it (as long as you arent being offensive or vulgar). So letting someone that talks trash bother you more or less means you are letting them win the mental game.

I personally am a conservative, quiet player when it comes to table talk.

I do ignore them but after they are out after all in showdown I sending them last "love message"
