It's nice to see that you are smart enough to know what the majority of people are thinking - you must be an awesome poker player!

My reporting of the evidence regarding thefts amounting to over $100,000 thankfully resulted in the victimized players being refunded.

A series of thefts totaling over $100,000 is not a trivial matter. I only know that the blondini9 and pokerjoda pokerbots that were robbing players at Full Tilt were accounts registered from New Zealand. I do not know if Full Tilt will be taking (or has taken) legal action. If legal action is taken, then the crime of robbery of over $100,000 could result in quite a heavy sentence.

Regardless, since I am one of the victims, I am going to look into if I can press charges. Yes, I have been refunded BUT if someone after a bank robbery, for instance, is caught and returns the money, they don't get to walk away -- and this case is no different.

Take this from someone who knows alot about about online scammers.

You could steal $100,000+ online and you won't face any charges whatsoever, although it could depend who you are stealing from.

Not only will you get no jail time, but its incredibly difficult to press charges to someone who steals via the internet. I don't want to say that its impossible, but I would say very improbable.

I wouldnt recommend trying to press charges, mainly because like someone said earlier its just a waste of your time, if you like to save time I would just forget about this incident. If you find more bots however the least time consuming and useful thing to do would be report said bots to full tilt poker support and they will look into it.

I guess I should include an example perhaps? The hackers who designed the conficker virus, which technically they are "stealing" millions of dollars in damaged computers, will they go to jail? Will they get fined? No they won't, why? Because the people are nearly impossible to track, even with microsoft offering exuberant amounts of money for information....

Actually it doesn't really make sense, it sounds like the sort of gobbledygook that would come out of an advertising agency, stupidity is not really quantifiable. Fat chance of him pressing charges too, in reality. Talk is cheap - but lawyers and international litigation certainly aren't! :DDo you recall how Dan conducted himself in the thread that was mentioned earlier :questionm
Well said, what more can be added.
pantin007 said:
just cause he was right this time doesn't mean that he conducted himself well
again, he didn't provide concrete evidence against these ppl, just speculation
UMM, This ^^^^ can be added, If my rusty middle aged memory can recall he was asked what proof he had, and he kept on not providing any, then his attitude became belligerent, and that is when members who were trying to piece together whether what he was saying can be confirmed or was indeed just his speculation may have gone on the offensive, just because it turns out that what he said was true, that doesn't mean he acted appropriately in the earlier thread. Also the thread was locked as it was going nowhere except to a bad place.
I'm am glad people have been reimbursed what these scumbags who were running these bots stole from them, but to want to chase them to get charges laid is just plain silly, it is Full Tilt's responsibility to do that, as it was them that ended up out of pocket, not only that but the costs involved would be out of the reach of any individual.
Full Tilt probably banned him from their forum as he was more than likely hampering their investigation, and also giving the scumbags that were running the bots a heads up that their days were numbered and time to close down their operation and set it up under some other names that are now fleecing unsuspecting players.

Sorry nick but right at the beginning of his original thread he posted this; "If anyone would like to confirm to themselves that these pokerbots are indeed pokerbots, all you have to do is sit down with either of them and sit out. While sitting out, the bot will continue to play you as if you were still there (eg. folding its small blind occasionally, even though it could raise and take the big blind)."

To me that says he hit a table with one of them and this happened . If I saw this it would raise a flag with me. All any one of the posters had to do was find those bots at a table and confirmed that one way or another.

Yes I do and I remember how people jumped down his throat.

I just reread the thread and I missed that part. Even the posters that wanted more info before deciding whether they were bots weren't disputing they could be. It was a rather civil discussion until Dan tired of requests for evidence.

...and ppl were searching for the screennames, I know I didn't find them active...and we asked for those hand histories where they supposedly played the same when opponents were sitting.

From the time he posted the thread onward, neither player was seen online. Basically we had Dan's say-so that they were bots. Just the same as we have djblackeye's word that Stars is rigged.

In fact, Dan accused 2 players of being bots in that thread. He says he's been reimbursed for playing 1 of them (pokerjoda) so does that mean the other player he accused (without ANY real evidence) was just an innocent?

Maybe, but since Dan was right on one of them I'm pretty sure we can just go ahead and assume (without evidence) that the other user is a bot as well. I mean, Dan's word is all we need, right???

I was refunded for exactly the amount that BOTH the blondini9 pokerbot and pokerjoda pokerbot combined were up versus me.

I provided evidence that TWO (2) pokerbots were indeed pokerbots; ZERO innocents were accused.

Regarding the "stupidity is infinite" claim, it originates from a quote of theoretical physicist Albert Einstein:

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Certain responses here make that statement all the more true. But I'm optimistic enough to realize (and hope) that not all the statements posted here are written by mature adults. It is quite within the realm of possibility that some of the posters are underage and/or unfortunately suffering from mental aliments.

All the best
Dan

Please enumerate your evidence Dan.

Actually don't worry about it. You had a feeling, looks like you were right. Good job, Dan.

Yes I do remember that, but as far as I was concerned he made the statements, so it should not be up to us to go looking for proof it should be the person who makes the statements who should provide the proof when asked civilly to do so. My above quote was just my interpretation of his answer thats why I said Basically.

Sorry Karen but when DICK HEADS like this behave in this manner I find it very hard to sympathize with them, regardless if they are supposedly right in the end.

So Zorba, I'm a dickhead for taking people to task when they are ignorant of the truth to the point of absurdity?

The human ego is so fragile, that to have someone admit a mistake or that they were wrong is incredibly rare. So in the end, I realize I'm much too optimistic for even trying to get through to certain people. Trying to save someone from their own stupidity is like trying to teach a pig to dance. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

So -- there I go again -- right?

EXACTLY!

See. Here's the thing. I know I'll never get through to ignorant, monumentally stupid people. But the least one can do is expose their stupidity, so that their damage to the truth is minimal.

All the best
Dan

Glad you got your money back, Dan. I myself have seen quite a few players do what you say these bots did(folding to players who are sitting out in the BB from the SB), and I always just chalked it up to ignorance or their part, perhaps from playing too many tables at once to notice their mistake. Certainly gives me pause to think, considering there are almost certainly more of them out there. Anyway, I hope the name calling gets puts to rest, gets in the way of actual discussion and just gets everybody all fired up.

In my opinion you are a Dickhead for the blatantly antagonistic and childish comments you make like "that not all the statements posted here are written by mature adults. It is quite within the realm of possibility that some of the posters are underage and/or unfortunately suffering from mental aliments" It is with these comments and the other childish comments that you have made that you loose all respect from me and most other members here.

Say what you will, but this will be the last post I will be making in this thread.

Zorba interestingly seems to be angered because I was generous enough to provide ignorant posters outs to explain their ignorance such as, "It is quite within the realm of possibility that some of the posters are underage and/or unfortunately suffering from mental aliments" (and additionally I was considerate enough not to name names).

The other option would have been for me to assume they are mature adults with no excuse for their incredible ignorance and stupidity. Zorba's dialogue leads one to believe that this would have been preferable to him. Well its not preferable for me, I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Best
Dan
