In fact, one could argue the luck factor makes poker even more intellectual. You need to have the skill of knowing when someone has lucked out on you and throwing the cards away. You need to know how to take the bad luck, account for it, and still come out on top in the long run. You even need to have skill to deal with good luck. Sometime you shove, sometimes you min-bet, sometimes you bet for value depending on how strong you think the opponents are.
