I've been playing online since 2004. Still love the game, even when I hate it. Been very sick the last 3 months and haven't play at all. In the last few days, I've started back up.

I always step away at times, gives me a chance to reflect, I feel like I am sharper every time I start back into it.

Hello. 10 years ago, when I thought that poker would become my main source of earning money, I devoted all my free time to it. After several years of constant gambling, I looked back and saw that despite the money I had earned, I had not lived all this time. It was very difficult to remember anything good. I stopped playing and didn't play for more than 2 years. During this time, I acquired a constant source of income, money, I had a lot of time to communicate with relatives, friends, I began to live again. Now poker is just a way for me to have an interesting pastime when I'm not busy.

I will play this game for as long as it's fun to me. If it stops being that, I'll stop. It's not exactly rocket science.

I think periods away from games are good. It serves to clear our mind.
I play everyday poker and Axie Infinity.
But from time to time I go two to three days without playing.
I always feel better when I come back!

I have gone months without playing before, sometimes your body and/or mind just need a break.

There's nothing wrong with taking time off until you have the desire to play again. The best times to play poker are when you are genuinely excited to play, as that's when you'll probably be the most focused and playing your best game.

Maybe you have hit a little burnout, there is nothing wrong with that at all.
Listen to your body, listen to your mind, maybe check in with your emotions about why you don't feel like play and you will probably get the answer.

I often find when i hit these sort of slumps that what I need is some social time, or exercise, or something else that doesn't strain my brain so much. Like a muscle it's good to give it a rest sometimes.

But that's just my personal experience, hopefully it's helpful in some way for yo to hear it :) :deal:

I took an almost 7 year break from the game before returning in 2020. ;)

Sometimes stepping away from the game is exactly what you need to "figure out" the game. ;)

Hi.
Sometimes I took breaks for 2-3 weeks. But my breaks were actually related to work and lack of free time. But I have a friend who has been playing poker for over 5 years, and during that time he has had two long breaks, about six months each.
Good luck.

I also started playing poker this year a lot less than last year! This is due to the fact that there is simply no time for poker, since poker is a hobby and not the main source of income! I hope that soon everything will be fine and there will be more time for poker! I now play occasionally, one or two tournaments, but after a long weekend away from poker, the game gets really bad, so I play one or two tournaments a week so I don't forget my poker skills at all! Good luck at the tables!

After many years of playing, I can stop smoothly for months. The point is to book myself with someone else and then I don’t think about poker.

As soon as you get bored, don't play. No one is forcing. Everything is good in moderation. Maybe it's time for you to reevaluate the picture of the world and do other things.

It happens in different ways .... Sometimes poker gets boring.
But if I don’t play for 1-2 days, then somehow I feel bad.

I took a break of years (around 4 years) from poker when I was in college a couple of years ago and it was not that difficult. That was the longest period of time that I did not play poker.

I did not play for over 3 days because I was visiting family and they will not let me get on their network because they think that Gambling Sites are full of viruses.

But I did have a good visit with my grandchildren.

Listen to me or not: These poker lessons, in combination with playing with 'bigger money', will only result in losing 'bigger money'.
You shouldn't stop playing, but at far lower stakes.

Hi.
I play an average of 4-5 days a week and 2-3 days I rest. Therefore, given my schedule, I just do not need longer breaks.
