I went to the wsop every year. I would buy a house and car. restu I can to keep living life. If I win a one million would open a poker room.:D

You may want to think a bit harder prior to spending your earnings. Here's why:

1. Upon winning $500k+ there is Nevada Gaming Taxes to pay
2. State taxes (Residency) to pay off

Both of these funds will kick you up to the next tax bracket for the year (rough estimate @ or about 41.5 percent.) That leaves you with just under $298k clean.

DO you have to pay the state taxes if you are from another country like Canada? I am not an American, but if I won the 500k I would invest in property, or bonds, with a 5k online poker bankroll, and i would pay off my massive student loans and credit card debt + mortgage.

The first thing I would do is yell a lot. Stuff like WOO HOO, YEAH BABY and other obnoxious stuff.....but what the heck, I just won! After that, who knows, haven't thought that far ahead. Wouldn't quit work, cause after taxes it isn't that much $$$.

Good thinking santa fe, its good to think about the consequences before the actions.

Quitting your job could suck because like you said, because after taxes, its not alot of $.

Reading everyone's posts in this thread is really making me want to win the WSOP now. :D

I would get myself out of debt, buy a new car and find money accounts to invest in. I would also put about 10k in my online accounts.

500k for winnning the WSOP ME?

That sucks. Ill tell you what id do if i won 10million like last years ME

buy houses for my dad and my mom. Pay off my school debt, buy me a house on the beach, 100k br, invest the rest. Probably give like 200k or so to charity, that would be nice

Not quite sure, I heard that Eastgate had to pay Hard Taxes upon reaching his native country. I'd expect the same from Canadian residences. It might be a Currency exchange type a deal.
