I would step back from the poker tables and devote time to them but you would gradually show that activity is part of what you are and then if it doesnt work out then you did everything you could. but spending say the weekend grinding poker when you should be at the beach or on vacation or doing something they would enjoy/that both of you can enjoy is where your mindset should be. i used to grind low limit holdem and every weekend I would see somebody bring a girlfriend and they would sit behind the boyfriend as he played poker and Im like, lol get outta here and go have some fun together, lol. That one didnt make sense. The other situation was a couple playing at the same table and thats fine but very rarely, i mean very rarely would I have the girlfriend playing and the boyfriend come over and check on them either giving advice between hands or just seeing if the girlfriend was actually having a decent time actually doing the thing the boyfriend actually loved doing. And thats how I would deal with it. Take them to play for a little bit and see if they could tolerate playing themselves or if they would rather not then i would step away from the tables and play a lot less until the relationship is more meaningful and see where it went. Casinos may close, online ooker might go away but if you "really" want to play then youll find a game. Finding the other half, different story. once its gone, its more than likely gone for good.
