well actually thats not true. anytime money is wagered with an uncertain outcome is considered gambling.

but that also means starting a business is gambling, going to college is gambling, etc.

in the larger scope of gambling games, poker gives you the most control over your money. you can wager on smart decisions and back off on stupid ones. when compared to horse racing, sports betting, any casino game including blackjack, poker is really harmless in that comparison.
