is it possible to play online while in a live tourney

say a person is playing a wsop tourney and decides to want to play the sunday million while in it can they?

pokerstars does not US player or any player currently in US to play real money.

As a result, it is impossible to play sunday million in stars and wsop at the same time.

Maybe there are rules you can look up on the wsop page? I don't think you'd be able to play any online poker while playing such a tournament. But, then again I may be wrong.

I don't think that there are any specific rules prohibiting it. But the rules governing the use of electronics and communication devices would seem to make it impractical. For instance, you are not allowed to have your electronic or communication device out while you are involved in a hand. So you would have put your device away every time a live hand is dealt or have your hand ruled dead. And while it might be possible to get multiple online hands in while the rest of the table plays out a live hand after you have folded, for every live hand that you play you are likely to have to sit out of several online hands while the live hand plays out, which would seem to create a severe handicap.

But it was at the EPT, i dont know, if WSOP allows such things.

i often wondered this myself, picturing myself at a casino tourney with my laptop off to the side but as a previous poster said, with calculator tools my guess they wouldn't allow it..unless you had a device on your I phone if you were sneaky enough

Wow! I pretty sure that this would not be allowed at the WSOP. But I think the question was whether it was possible at all and the WSOP/Sunday Million was just an example. So I think Daniel72 gets the DING and the points for the correct answer, which would seem to be yes. However, I think most US casinos would fall more in line with WSOP rule concerning the use of electronic devices. As a matter of fact, the WSOP only allows electronic or communications devices (including ipods) to be out when a player is not in a hand, and only up until the money is reached. Once the money is reached, I don't believe you're even allowed to be wearing headphones from that point on in the tourney. So it wouldn't be possible to be at the final table of, let's say, the WSOP and any online tournament simultaneously.

well i was playing live at the planet hollywood casino and some asian guy was playing online poker while were in the hands

This wont ever happen. I believe every casino will not allow you to play online poker at all inside there building. Could jeopardize there gambling license

It's technically possible (assuming you can take care of wifi access and battery life concerns) but it'll depend entirely on the rules your live tournament has with regard to the use of electronic devices during the game. The WSOP has cracked down on this in recent years, as have many other tournaments.

i could see durr playing heads up flipping online for 10x the buy in of the mainevent while he is bored

while recently in a wpt event here in hollywood florida,i seen several people with the ipads etc,playing online poker during the tournament....
whether they were allowed or not is undetermined but noone ever said anything to them .
