For example, you start a poker game and lose 50% of your starting chips in the first 10 minutes.
Are you able to pick yourself up and continue the fight or have you already decided to give up?

Personally I lost 90% of my chips in the first 10 minutes and still made money

For me, poker is a game of chance. Even if I have 1 blind in my stack, it's still a chance. I take risks only when there are reasons to do so and just try not to play with junk. Even if there's only 1 blind left, it's still a chance that you have to take. Hysteria, nerves or tilt are not for me

I've already won a tournament that I had less than 10% of starting chips in few minutes of it. But there it turns to be only luck, as you can't work any other poker ability.

If you play for a while you will always see or be the one who makes that type of comeback. I never give up and have make the money after horrid starts many times. I fully believe in a chip and a chair and while it wont happen often it does happen.

it should be as you have to take it as one big session.
this is where bankroll mgmt comes in.

You should be rolled in the games you play and stick to the strategy and not chase losses.

I once played the Sunday Million on PokerStars and lost almost all my chips at the beginning of the game (there were a few big blinds left while all the other players had deep stacks of about 150-200 big blinds). And yes, in that tournament I got into the prize zone and won about $150. So yes, it is real!

Never lose hope,

There's always the re-buy button!

Losing your cool or focus because you lost a large portion of your chips early on in a game is a serious mental game leak and might suggest you might be wired better to play cash games as you're able to stand up and leave with no EV loss.

You should be more worried about if the play that caused you to lose your chips is correct or not than how any chips you have at a random point in time. This will have no effect on your long term probability, it's just an interesting view along the marathon that is one's poker career.

I recently lost 80 percent of my starting chips but still cashed. Yes, when I had a small stack I played more aggressively and went all in with controversial cards. But it worked and I got a good stack!
