Do you lose a lot on the river like i do??

Example: Flop and turn - Kh 9d 8s - 5s My hand - 9 h 9s Opponent - Ks 6d

Im in the cut off and my opponent calls on the button. Preflop raise 2.5x the bb opponent calls. Flop hits and i C bet half the pot 818 and opponent calls. stack sizefor me was about 7k and my opponent had 12k before we started. When the turn hits i check and he bets the king and i shove all in and he snap calls. And then the river falls and i am sad face because it was a 7 cant really remember the suite on that one i was sunk in my own chest. These types of losses happen to me almost everytime i get a monster like this and no joke almost everytime.
Let me know what i am doing wrong or am i just the unluckiest player lol!??!?!?!

The way to look at this is you are lucky for getting action from k6 or any other crap people get cute with. In the long run your profit will come from hands like the one u described here, where u have the better odds pre flop and definately post flop. Thing is u always remember the hands where u get sucked out on having the best hand when all the money went in, but most likely forget the hands where the same situation leads to a win for yourself. At lower buy ins people are often less skilled so more likely to gamble and the described situation happens more often at these tiers. Thing to remember: in the long run every time the money gets in with u being ahead makes u money :)

That is awesome congrats! I think $1/2 is a happy medium. This would be live though I would say. For online I would say maybe .25/50 to learn for cash and maybe $22-$109 for mtt. Spending some money to learn is okay but not need to go crazy. I don't think micro's would get the blood flowing at all and at the stakes I mentioned should be good way to dip the feet in the water. Best of luck! Keep us posted on the progress and come say hello when I am on twitch streaming!

Thanks for your time and insights. That's very helpful.
By the time you replied, someone else had told me to try 0.25NL.
I am doing OK with a bit more than 70,000 hands, +3.2bb/100 hands winrate. Hopefully, I will be able to improve this winrate over the next couple of months and try to climb to 0.50NL.

In the meantime I am reading some books (Mental Game and Modern Poker theory right now)

hello, my questions is the following, how long does it take to learn poker, that is, do I really have to take years to improve? Or is it that I could improve studying or something like that because I do it but I don't know if it's my bad luck but with each game, that I have very good hands I always get a bad beats and sometimes I would like to explode hahahaha, but I calm down and go back to go up step by step, but any advice to predict the hands? perhaps

Both, i studied for like a year and a half before sitting at a live table, but all the knowledge in the world wont replace experience. And if you dont learn from your experience and evolve your game, you are wasting very valuable time playing. online poker helped me exercise mechanics and mathematics of the game and live games helped me learn to control my emotions and sometimes even set the tone for the table in my favor.

I kill at Zinga Poker but can’t seem to win at any level of sit and go cash games at any level. What’s the main difference between free play and real money play.

Multiple accounts

I have an account at America’s cardroom,
Black Chip, and True.
My question is, if I were to hypothetically win a larger amount tournament, would they give me grief about withdrawal because I have accounts at each site even though they’re the same skin.? Has anyone ever had this scenario?
I only play one skin at a time.

Rebuys

I think tournaments with rebuys are awful, especially when the rebuy is cheaper than the original buy in or when you bust you can get back in.

I think they need to go, what is your opinion? And how can I avoid them?

I like rebuys now and again but def it's not good always! One re entry is a good compromise. Very rarely a tournament has a rebuy where the rebuy is less than the original entry! I wouldn't like that format much

Hi Jeff

Ho Jeff!

How do you get yourself out of tilt, during online play? Like, in a situation where you can't just leave the table and cool your jets.

I play micro mtts. I hate JJ.
I seem to lose more chips than I win with them.
I’ve started playing them by raising 4/5 bbs and if a Q-A come out on the flop, abort.
What would you do early on in a mtt/micro?

What would you say my issue is - I always tend to start overplaying near the bubble and have at times gone from chipleader (40+BB) to busting within 10 people of the cash. What's the mental weakness there and why?

I think your strategy seems right.Whenever you have JJ, you have to think to yourself "would I make the same bet with 10-10? What about 9-9?"

So turning it into a set mining hand with bluff potential seems like a good idea. Early on in MTTs, you always take set mining opportunities because you can stack other players when everyone has a deep stack of chips. :D You'd be surprised how many people commit on top pair top kicker.
