How do you become a pro player? Tell us a little about your poker journey, what were your initial difficulties? Have you thought about giving up in the first steps before becoming a professional? A hug there, comrade, regards bioman42O.
It takes lots of trial & error & also finding ways to have passive income generated. Many attributes that make a professional poker player aren't the glamourous ones. You need discipline, great bankroll management, focus, mental work on not tilting & of course to surround yourself with great people who have similar goals and motivations as you. Initial difficulties were finding ways to improve to the next level. This is not easy & hard to be honest with your own game at times. Being stubborn is not something to be in poker! I am happy to share more, come hang on my twitch channel anytime! JeffGrossPoker.tv

How do you deal with sequential bads when they completely ruin your grind of the day?
meditate, think about positive things and happenings in my life! We are lucky to be alive, to have access to computers/learning. Family, friends. Think of areas of your live where you are running way above variance/expectations! This helps for me.

Jeff, what tip would you give me since I'm still mostly playing freerolls and 1-10 cents buy-in tournaments? The micro buy-in tournaments are insane for me, turbo or hyper-turbo blinds raises and most of the times I can make a decent stack to survive.

I have some notion and I'm trying to consume as much of free content as I can in the internet regarding poker, but I do lack a more structured material. Would you know any good material to recommend (free preferable)?

Any help is welcome and thanks again for your hints and support here.
hello! I can't speak much on that area, there is a lot of great free content. Watching Twitch/youtube videos would be good. Raise Your Edge has a lot of great content. I have a section on my website w/ this; jeffgrosspoker.com/rye

Hope this helps!
Jeff

Jeff, probably someone already asked you this, but..t... how do you record you live hands for later analysis? and... what camera are you using for your vlogs, and how you go around to record it at the tables? I heard some people have hidden cameras to record their hands only (not sure if this legal, but I'm not risking), but I saw you recording your hands and the flops on the table. DO you have special permission? etc?

Asking for a friend (lol)
Hey there, I got a new vlog camera, not sure the specs I can ask Vedran (or come on my twitch stream i'll have for you). Live hands i have permission/pass at the venues yes. I don't use hidden cameras & would recommend that as not a good idea for many reasons. I wish you the best & hope that helps.

I take a day off., or at least stop the session, and do something else (nap, bike ride, get laid, whatever). The absolute worst you can do (In y opinion) is to keep playing and trying to get even. You might be on tilt and not even realizing it. Just shake it off, write it off, and start a new session when you back in the focus. (Sorry Jeff for stealing your thunder)
Yes this is very sound advice! Certainly don't force it and of course, never walk away from a heater!

how to determine the good bets if you always lose with pure bad bets..
play the math! Do not be results oriented. If you are always putting your money in w/ the best of it then you will only be able to have bad beats and not give bad beats. This is a good thing and you should be happy on this! The math works out over time! glgl

Thanks for taking the time, Jeff

I multi-table 0.25/0.50 cash games with steady success, but I'm really struggling with tournaments. Firstly, with a bankroll of $1000, and given that my tournament game still needs work, what buy-ins should I be playing? I find micro-stakes tourneys are so much harder to grind than micro-stakes cash games.

Cheers in advance,
Yog
This is what I started w/ when I first really got into poker! You have to remember tournaments are a completely different skill set. In cash games the stacks are usually the same parameter and often deep. In tournaments you have 10-30bb stacks so often and need to know a lot of push/fold and call charts. Start w/ that!

You are a professisonal poker , beside you play poker do you like another sport ? racing , golf or boxing ? Have you been playing poker ? is poker a lucky game ? somtime it make us frustrated , how biggest money did you win in tournament?
I like soccer. Lot of skill, def some luck! that is why it is a great game. chess is a lot of fun but the better player will win almost always. Poker is nice to have some element of luck!

Hey! Yes if you are having great success are your current buy in level this may be a good time to take it to the next level! Exercising good bankroll management is always a good thing however and if you are winning consistently there is something to be said about that!
No i mean i still have a TIny bankroll after a year playing, i cant afford to go up..is this normal?? After a year of playing one win and couple finaltables and many ITM? Are these results of mine good bad or average for a year of playing? Im sorry for my english im no native speaker.

Hello Jeff, I occasionally stream on twitch and I have a really good question which has been bothering me, I am hoping you can help.

I know how to acces hand histories on pokerstars and I know how to use it in the CC hand replayer which is an excellent tool btw.

However, I want to make a video with hands from various tournaments from pokerstars and put them together. So I have a list of hand histories but Im unable to put them into a hand replayer on stars. I can use the virtual hand replayer during a tournament and to go over those hands but how do I get older hands into a stars replayer ?

I see for example when Daniel negreanu post hands after his games he plays them from a hand replayer I think but hes able to click immediately to specific hands rather than click through them to find a specific hand, how is this done?

I could probably make videos of hands after each tournament using the replayer then piece them together with a voice over but seems like alot of hassle, I just want to look back over them at a later date.

Thanks

David

Jeff you didnt answer my queston??

Hello Jeff

Hello Jeff, could you give us a suggestion for people who have regular work and have billiards for hours a day to play ... micro bankroll. Thanks in advance. Good luck at the tables.😀

3-bet question.

Hello, Jeff, don't throw tomatoes at me, please. There was a question-there is no solution...

I pay attention to the fact that when they put 3-bet on the size, they go crazy, as they want... but, as it seems, there is a standard.
3-3. 5 x c positions, 4x c blainds ...
With blainds it is clear, we want to get more folequity, because our implementation will be worse

Interested in playing with buttons and CO against the early ones in 6-max, why no one uses the size of 2.5 x, here are the thoughts:

1) We will compensate for the lower foldequity by implementing our equity post-flop, taking into account our position
Here is the main question, maybe it's just not compensated, or there is some easy adjustment to this size...
2) The possibility of expanding 3beta (for two sizes with a balance)
3) The ability to play from a position in a wider spectrum also in 4-bet, in case the opponents start to expand the 4-bet for us, and they should

I understand that with the top of our range, we want to make the size wider, to implement the hand in a more overclocked bank... to do this, we can make a separate size, let's say 3.7 x against the early ones, where we balance the hands of the 3 percent spectrum of the top with the lowest, which presumably without this we will play in the negative.... And you can do it without it) Use 2.5 for the entire range

I've never used 2.5 x... but the scary thing is, I don't have an understanding of why not to use and why I use 3.5 x

What is your strategy when you are in the bubble of the ft, more aggressive or more passive, as you play in this stage of the tournament.😱

Hello and great question! Generally you will want to be more aggressive here as others will respect ICM and not take a lot of risk when not opening pots or wanting to call off. It is also worth noting that generally on the bubbles of Final Tables it is short handed; 4 & 5 handed so the hand ranges change significantly and you need to open it up some or get blinded down!

Hi sir! When you are in the small paid places of a tournament and you receive a small pair (44-55-66) UTG and you have less than 10BB left ... which action is better ... push all in or fold and wait for a better spot?

Hey Jeff. What was your initial starting bankroll for online mtt-s? How many times did you go broke? And after how many years did you start only playing as a living? Favorite food?🙂

what percentage is acceptable and good to have in the number of hands played in a tournament?

Hi Jeff,
What poker course would you recommend for begginers?
Thanks
good question! there is a lot of good info out there, I recommend RYE personally but lot of free content on youtube & Twitch. On my website on the coaching tab I break this down more clearly!

hi Jeff,

I know these questions are a bit complex but if you can explain the basics of how to play the turn and the same for the river it would be much appreciated.

Im just looking for a general guideline for cash games. thanks

jeff ,, how do you play with an opponent who doesn't fold and always plays cbet in position?
