Just focus on poker or do other things while playing?

Most of the time I'll be playing poker and watching stuff on YouTube that doesn't require my full attention.

When something big is happening at the table I pause the video until the situation goes back to normal. e.g. When reaching the bubble it's full concentration time.

I believe that the player should be as focused as possible on the game and on making the right decisions. But I play for my pleasure, so sometimes when I play, I watch TV, read or listen to music.

When I play poker, I try to be as focused as possible on the game. Very rarely, when I play poker, I listen to music or watch movies or videos.

I like to launch a video on youtube in the background. just to listen. usually it's a documentary about the empires of antiquity or just a movie I've seen before. it helps me relax and facilitates my concentration during the game.

On a serious note, depends on the stakes. If it's a playchip game or a home game I will multitask / drink / have a conversation. There is some degree of autopilot to my play though.

I'm usually cooking, doing laundry, watching tv.. etc etc etc lol If I've got more than 2 going at once, I'll sit still for a bit

If it cost me more than a couple bucks, it'll get my complete attention too usually.

I need music while playing online and i can't play only 1 table, i have to do at least 2-4 multi-tables.
For Live cash game, i am very focus and high alert with almost everything that move to every word people said. No talking for me, only reply when being asked about my stack. Mainly because in my country the only legal place to play is 1 casino that offer 5/10 and above. Buy-in is $1k-$4k.

I am usually just listening to music, and singing!

Which is incredibly funny, cause when I win a huge, I am getting as loud as I can. But when you're hungry please do not starving because of it, cause you are free to live

The other things I think can reduce the level of concentration, so --> let's travel to your isolated island.

Man, watching TV is a bad idea, unless you can really make money playing automatic poker...

I put on the longest techno/edm mix I can find:marchmell, preferably one without any words or too crazy of music. Really this just helps pump me up and block out everything else.:elefant:

I prefer to just play and focus but sometimes I am making dinner and other chores. If I have to multitask I will play fewer hands but play them more aggressively.

Ideally, you would just focus on game(s). But easy to get distracted when card dead for long periods of time snd internet is readily available. I'm trying to train myself to pay attention to tables and opponents' actions even during hands I'm not in. This is what you would do live so so should do online as well.

depends if im only playing one table I tend to get bored and usually open other tabs and get distracted. definitely play worse after that

In most cases, I try to take poker very seriously and am not distracted by anything during the game, but sometimes there are an exception !!!
