Definitely read this book, if you're up to it...
I have read this book and would recommend it to any player looking to add some math to their game.....on one condition: YOU MUST BE WILLING TO INVEST YOURSELF IN IT!
This book is a workout to say the least. Bring pencil, paper and calculator along with an open mind. If you're looking for a book to read through and add some quick tips to your arsenal this probably isn't the book for you. In fact, I would say that a lot of what I learned from this book is hard to apply in real-time at the poker table.
If you put in the work you will learn a lot of the fundamental math behind hold 'em. You will also understand why the numbers run the way they do which has been very beneficial to me.
I took extensive notes while reading this book but still won't claim to fully comprehend everything inside.
A good portion of the book deals with hand analysis away from the table through the use of charts. These sections are kind of dry but ultimately useful.
A great feature are the series of quiz style review questions at the end of each chapter. I struggled over these but really came away with a better understanding of poker math.
I hope this helps you make a decision!
