Live chat on CC?

I was just thinking (a first for me) that it would be so nice to have a live chat room here at CC. for round table talks and conversations. do we have one and I just dont know about it? Is it possible to format the site with it? I think it would be great. members let me know please. thank you.

Do a search man, this has been suggested dozens of times. Nick (CC's owner) thinks it would take content away from the forums (which it probably would), and so hasn't implemented it.

thats cool. but cant we try it and see anyway! I mean why not? I dont think that would take away from the forum. and if it does so be it. give the people what they want. Ok from here on out in this thread lets have a poll: all in favor? say: yeah.... Against? : ney

Well since posts appear more or less instantly, the forum is live chat, but all the history is saved. Live chat like you're proposing wouldn't be logged and others wouldn't be able to benefit from the discussion.

yeah i thought chat at cc would be a good idea at one point. i no longer feel that way simply because this is a forum. keep it that way. many of us have aim/yahoo/msn/etc. so if you wish to chat with people, you can do so that way.

thats cool. just want to be able to respond to people without worrying if my replies are too short or not quality if I do. if I can just say short responses that would be ok. I used jedi mind tricks on Q and xx so I'm ok with that. mods feel free to close this if you want. I see thier point.

I think it would not be a good idea to have one, more and more people are using internet messaging now and that is bad for the game, it is far to easy for some of the not so nice people to play together on tables and use this advantage to tell each other what cards they hold, and so making it hard for the honest player to be able to win.

ah yes....collusion. I would like to take colluders and drag them behind my car! its just that if there is no chat....and short replies are considered spam, then how can I win? help me out here haha, cause im way over 50 and thats not an issue, and I think spaming is stupid and brainless.

i brought this up a couple days ago. I never got any reasons for why we didnt have one but it definitely makes sense that it will take content away from the site, but its a way we can all talk during tourneys just casually and not worrying about spamming.

That is why there are im's. You can feel free to use em as you wish. I am not speaking for cardschat but have read the other threads and it seems as if this is a dead issue. I could care less either way as I have a few im's it is not vital for me to have a cardschat one as well.
