Where did you play first: live or online? Which do you prefer?

For me, it was live in Laughlin, NV.

I prefer live poker, but don't really have that option where I live. So, I play a lot online.

I've never actually deposited any money on an online site. But, I've made over $1,000 playing on subscription sites (legal in the US).

Never played live but I would like to. It's interesting what's the difference between them.

I vote for online because you have more opportunities in games...SNG, MTT, Cash...

I first played at a friends house in high school and I like playing live a lot more than I do online. However I have never played at a casino and I play a lot more frequently online than I do live.

Online and I prefer online as well. Playing live is great but it is a much greater challenge...doing math in the head, keeping the nerves at bay, avoiding tells, etc.

First time I learned poker (5 card draw) was in 5th grade and ever since then something about poker intrigued me. When I start playing hold'em it was with friends and family, then I would go to casinos and play live then this online epidemic happened and I play online too. It is more fun playing live because you can actually see people's tells and see if they are attempting to bluff (not all the time) so I think it's more fierce as well. Online you can sometimes tell if they are bluffing by learning their betting patterns. Both has it's pros and cons, online you can play multiple games at once but in live you can actually make new friends and talk with people if you're the talkative type. my 2 cents.

i first played poker live. i'm a live action junkie, what can i say? and prefer playing live action poker. i have seen way too many two outers hit the river in online poker to have any faith in that shit.

I started with playing online. I prefer to play online because you are able to play much more hands in comparison to play live.

^^ Maybe many of the reasons I enjoy live better? I want others to have to do their own math, etc

I used to play live but have no choice but to play online now.

But comparing the two, live is better because it follows the norms.

I prefer live, it's more social and thats where I'm comfortable. The speed of the game is also good.

Online is okay but I find it hard to concentrate enough because I'm just staring at a screen, but I understand the tournament opportunities are so much better online then live.. Especially with satelites and qualifiers to live events so I need to train myself ot enjoy the grind.
