live poker , best time to top up stake

this seems to be strange but

I discuss with friend

100BB full stack on table.
after 1 round you are down to 98.5BB

what is the best time to top up?

at EP, at MP, at LP esp button, or when blinds hit you?

I think I prefer when blinds hit me, but looks like it is best to when button hits you?

When I play the $300NLH game at a local casino, I buy $420 in chips, a stack of white $1 chips, a stack of red $5 chips and the rest in green $25 chips. Table max is $300 so when I sit down I pocket 4 $5 chips and 4 $25 chips. Then I add to my stack whenever I have folded a hand and have dropped below the $300 max.

I think that is fine
but I think my reason is that
always win money at Late position , esp button
so at blinds and UTG I want to limited less stack if I could only bring in every time

10BB at blinds, and 20BB at EP
and 100BB at button I would always do that
but that is not possible for sure. <- cannot hide chips.
