Generally, yes. Loads of recreational players live. There are comfy seats, not stools like at the blackjack Tables and you don't have to stand like at a Craps table. Pretty girls bring free drinks, and the Poker rooms are a welcome relief from the chaos on the main floor. Lots of TVs for watching the Big Game (distractions are good). They come for the entertainment, and if they get lucky, that's the cherry on top. Playing someone from across the table is much better/easier than playing an avatar, imo. They literally can't escape the confrontation, in other words they can't just sit out to fold, they have to do it in front of you and everyone else at the table. They can't throw a fake turd or a horseshoe at you, legally that is. It's just better since people are forced, to a degree, to be civil... In theory, anyway. I've played a decent amount of tournaments both live and online and I'd say you can use a 10X rule for determining live competition vs. online. For instance, if you go to your local casino and play a $70 daily you'll probably find players equivalent in skill to a $7.50 online game. the big difference (as has been mentioned) is that there are more people who are just there to gamble, most likely casino gamers who wanted to try poker instead of roulette for a change.Blurt Reynolds said:
