I had a single-masted AQ, the older pair, and I felt confident. Opponent Slooplay played a set and took the entire bank. Poker reminds me to never feel too relaxed.

Losing with a strong hand will always hurt but no one will always win in a game of chance. Only in sports is where the strongest & best technique always win & the weakest always loose. 'Aint that boring. :ROFLMAO:

It's really painful to be honest, especially in big situations. Example final tables
Hitting a set on the flop just to lose to a runner runner straight or 4 liner flush, that's so unlucky and painful, makes you question everything

You play it perfectly, you’re way ahead, the chips are sliding your way… and then boom the river crushes you. Even the best strategy can’t protect you from variance.
But that’s poker. The pain of losing a strong hand is also the lesson: stay calm, stay disciplined, and remember it’s the long run that counts.

Just lost with AA in the VIP200 game, against Q9o. Did every thing right still lost, unlucky day for me i guess.
Making decisions is what poker is all about. The result doesn't matter. You will make money in the long run if you played the hand well.
You lose your capacity to make wise decisions if you let yourself go on tilt. The goal is to accept the beat and bring your best game,
which includes your best choices, into the next hand. No worrys vovk, you ship it next game, gl!

If you built a pot and had positive EV, you did everything right. don't sweat it!

Understanding what influences our decisions is a key aspect of becoming a successful poker player. You need to study situations outside the tables and think about what might happen on future streets. Your success depends on it!I must say, I was just unlucky.

Well, playing on-line micro I find it pretty normal, just because playing many hands. It is of course never nice, but I do not care much. However if it happened several times in a row, or if I played life and lost a few hundred $$$, it could be another issue...

Btw I was kicked out from VIP 200 yesterday loosing AA vs 55. It just happens ;)

Yesterday in the CardChat Silver tournament my pocket Aces got cracked by pocket 99’s — so yeah, this happens every day and I’m already used to it. 😅 I realized a long time ago that AA guarantees you nothing in freerolls. If it had been a real-money game, I doubt he would’ve called me with 99 there.

Well, tournament play with shallow stacks is another factor (no matter freroll or not). With shallow effective stack shoving or calling a shove with low pair is pretty normal.

AQ is a treacherous hand, many times you trust that you have a strong hand but it is really misleading and a simple K can sink you and make you lose a lot of money

This happens, and then, another time you'll beat an AA with a 22, as long as you played it right, don't let it get the best of you!
