From my understanding poker is the only game offered by the casino that can be beat because you're playing against other players while the casino or card room just takes a fee (rake) for providing you the ability to play.

Every other game where you're playing against the house is -EV and thus on a long enough time line you will lose money.

For the record most people conveniently forget to tell you about the times they lose money or forget about the three $20 bills they slipped inside the first machine while someone else was "In their favourite seat" or whatever.

If you're talking about poker, of course it can be beaten and thus you'll appear "Lucky" if you're good.

Hope this helps

In your opinion would you say
1) you have more good luck than average
2) you have average luck
3) you have more bad luck than average (I think that I am in this group since I lose more bad beats than I win). 😮‍💨

When I was young my luck was good. I got lucky very often.

Early middle age - average luck.

Older age - no luck at all!!

I believe this mostly comes down to being single when I was young and working as a Bouncer in strip bars and now being older & married.

Poker is a mix of skill and variance, but I swear I'm in the 'more bad luck than average' group—feels like the deck is cursed against me.

Today 03/13, something incredible happened to me, in 3 tournaments I fell, 93 X 88, at table 99, another 62 X QQ, at table 26, another T5 X AA, at table TT, if this is not luck what is?

3) you have more bad luck than average (I think that I am in this group since I lose more bad beats than I win).

I'm not lucky, so I rarely win. Especially on the river I have the most unlucky hands.

While skill, strategy, and decision-making are the primary factors that determine long-term success in poker, luck also plays a crucial role sometimes. Even the best players in the world can lose hands due to bad beats or variance.

However, over time, skilled players consistently make better decisions, which minimizes the impact of luck and increases their profitability.

Would you say your luck in poker tends to be above average, average, or below average? 😃

Luck plays a big role in the short term, but skill is what separates winners from losers in the long run. Understanding variance and managing it is key to success.

In poker and in life, luck affects short-term outcomes, but skill and decision-making are crucial to long-term success. In poker, luck can bring quick wins, but it's good decisions, theory learning, and the ability to manage variance (not control luck) that define a winning player over time.

En mi caso, simplemente hay días diferentes: algunos días la ganancia es mayor, otros menores. Todo es bastante simple y no hay ninguna conspiración.

There is luck in everything. Of course in gambling . Yeah there is luck in poker , love , but online it's more the rng factor that determines the results .

Courage and luck influence a lot to win, but sometimes you don't need courage and aggressiveness

I believe that 1% is luck, the other 99% is divided into respect, pattern analysis, table position, stack control, and discipline, because the sport is multidisciplinary.

Luck does exist, but it only lasts in the short term. In one or two sessions it can make all the difference, but in the long run, skill, emotional control, and discipline always stand out.
