I don't really like his shove, but I guess it's standard ?

[ ] Villain shoved
[x] Hero shoved

and yes, it's 100% standard for both players to stack on this flop.

so what you are saying there is, we should 3bet the AK all day long because the hands we will get looked up by are all ahead of us?

When by calling we play the hand ahead of the nittyish players range, and with a fish in the hand, and position on both

Assuming you are referencing my post so I'll respond..

AK even in position you are just going to have to fold out most of the time you whiff the flop vs two players and any significant pressure if you flat it. You also allow the 10/8 to get to the flop with any pp and other stuff so his range is far wider. I also said that I think the 10/8 if he just flats you could definitely come along with worse or at least 22-QQ sometimes which you are flipping with (but he's going to be assigning you at least some possibility of AA/KK with a 3b) so you have more FE if you 3b than if you don't on the flop. True you do fold out some stuff you are well ahead of (AQ being the most obvious hand) but I don't think that's a bad trade.

I don't *hate* flatting and I will do it sometimes actually but I would alot rather raise and eliminate one (or both) of them. If the 10/8 folds and the fish calls, that's not a bad result at all. If the 10/8 calls and the fish folds you will likely get a fold on a cbet often even if you miss. There is also a reasonable chance you simply pick it up preflop which isn't a bad result either when say you are up against 99 and...whatever two random card the fish has.

do you disagree?

You get looked up by worse when you 3-bet pf, especially if he's just going to flat it. Plus being OTB with AKo against two fish is just too awesome so you want to build that pot up pre-flop!

I'm with Switch, it's pretty standard to be flatting AK to a nitty (lol at 12/10 not being nitty, and even if it's not super-nitty it's EP) open. It also allows you to flat other hands and have some balance. If villains will flat hands like AQ/AJ then sure 3-bet all day but most people oop are not flatting these hands and raising AK basically turns it into a bluff unless you plan on stacking off to an EP 12/10 raiser, which I have to believe can't be profitable.

Yeah, Belgo, meant call. So does it change anything that he has to call a shove ?

Whatever, the way it went down it isn't all that important, neither is the result, he got there that's fine.

600 VPPs to Gold, grind time.

Yesterday was awsome and today was even better, in the sense that today sucked :).
Couldnt hit a flop to save my life.
I think i played ok apart from two hands and i guess thats all i can do,rest isnt up to me.
First hand i played bad i refused to fold after geting belugad knowing there was 99.9% chance i was beat and called down.
The other i tried a big bluff and got called by T9 on a T-high board.
Not playing more today cause i know im starting to tilt and shit.

p.s including ev graph to show i suck, still suck less then i lost:D.

Well I wuz gonna post how sick I am of running like crap for the first 100 hands of a session and spending the next 700 hands getting out of the hole but after seeing teh bunneh's post...I am very happy to be able to see daylight at the end of the day. But seriously take off my first 100 hands of each session this month and I a playing 1000k nl by now (maybe not quite- but you get the idea). And to chuck and vanquish......some things are better not shared (or put them on twitter).

Are you still playing 10nl or 25nl to get there? If 10nl, you planning playing 15k hands? If so again, that's sick!

In other news, my gf told me she was pregnant today, crazy, gotta up the poker learning now to try and get myself a nice lil side income in a year or so lol, what an incentive! hehe
Congrats and good luck on both fronts op.:)

25nl, solely for grinding purposes. Playing a good style though, I'm sort of proud of my play. Only slightly underrolled, and thanks to that session earlier I was even rolled.

I actually brought my AF down to 3 and played a SD style. In the 3k hands I played today I'm 12/10/3.5 WTSD 27% W$SD 54% steal 25%.
Now if I can stop from getting coolered in the last session (and tilting some admittedly) I can stop giving my days profit back :(

No, the Fuse, which is apparently the newer version of the Tilt. I like it so far...I was going to the the 3G iPhone, but didn't want to deal with the same bs as this last one. I'm probably going to keep the first gen and use all the gadgets on it anyway.

For some reason I thought "Wow there's a pro at that table" so I went to join the wait list and realised I was sitting there.

I love it, now if they just change the colour of the table when you're on the wait list and it'll be perfect.

exactly what i thought.

Considering in this session i had AA<jj, set under set, set < straight, full house < full house and the best of all losing with a,k in a 3bet pot on a k22k board. At least i wasn't drawing dead i suppose. Session ended well tbh

I think you kinda overstated your point there.
