It depends on if it puts you in a zone like state when you play or a paranoid anxiety state.

any substances changing consciousness is not compatible with a good game of poker, it is better to play in a sober mind

Could not even answer you because I don't smoke marijuana and it's not even legal to do that. If you will smoke marijuana while playing I would assume that you will enjoy your game while loosing. I could not even imagine how on earth can you focus your mind in the game when your mind is high as a sky.

I think it all depends on what you are used to...If you learned to play , high and have always played high, than not being stoned could be detremental to your game. If you are usually sober and learned to play sober than probably would be a deterent. I personally learned to play poker while having a few beers (around) one an hour or so nothing ridiculous so I think I play best when Having a moderate amount just cause that is the mindset in which i learned it and continued to play. Regarding poker it really depends on your goals. If you seriously don't care how you end up and it is just a recreation thing for someone than it probably would not matter what you did as long as you had fun doing it. If your goal is to win than I suggest whatever state of mind you most often play in. Whether that be on drugs or drinking or sober. As far as your game goes play however has worked for you . If what you have been doing doesn't work than smoking something isn't really going to change anything for the negative IDK do what works for you, I will do what works for me...but I am not opposed to smoking pot, however I never play poker that way because I know it would not help my game in any way, simply because my brain is not accustomed to playing poker on weed.

it all depends on the individual approach;)
If you feel good and you can play (sometimes even better;)) why NOT?!
but ... and I know such cases ... when, smoking gives you a big buzz, too big :) better to play sober.

... I see a few moves forward ...;)

I don´t agree with the idea of reconciling drugs / stimulants and Poker. Of course some people use Marijuana and play , but I believe that´s not a good option when you are looking to improve your skills in the game and the capacity of read your opponents. For sure the drugs will harm you.

As John A. Mentioned it depends on the strain and your brain chemistry. Further I would add that a regular marijuana smoker with a few years under his belt will know exactly what works for them vs someone that has just started.

AS for me it does not seem to matter one way or the other. My play is relatively consistent whether I smoke and play or play straight. But then their are strains I will not touch if I am playing and want to smoke.

Cannabis and Poker

I like to eat edibles and listen to very soothing chill music while I have sessions online or live that last for several hours. I find that it helps me to be patient, relaxed, and eases tilt on those bad beats. :D

Agreed

It's amazing I agree. I used to do the same thing when I lived in California. The perspective is an advantage, I believe. Like blending in but making a sweet move that no one expects.:D

Definitely on point for sure. It's like you're in your own cozy little mind, and it takes the stress away from negative poker players too.

The quality of the weed effects how I play. If it's not sweet sticky and smelly with no stems and no seeds, you'll lose all your clay chips and only have potato chips as a bankroll, not easy to manage. Potato chips don't play in most poker games.
