Maximizing opponent calls

I always have issues with how much to bet when i have a monster. Has anyone read anything or has their own input on this ??? Thank you , John

You have to provide a bit more information there. Live or online? Do you pay attention to your opponents' betting patterns? Typically if you flop a monster, it's best to slow play it, and give your opponent enough rope to hang him/herself. On the flipside, if you flop a set on a board with two or more suited cards and/or overcards, a 2/3 or larger pot sized bet should be set to prevent the quintessential suckout or giving your opponent the right odds to improve their hands. Slow play on a non threatening board, and play aggressively/cautiously with additional players or a board that could allow your opponent to lay a bad beat on you.

Def. need more info. Do you have a hands history of a particular hand we can take a look at? Some info on villians betting patterns as well as game type/stakes would help too.

Could really do with more info but good post. When I flop a monster ie a straight or above I have 2 choices; Underplay the hand like a pair to get callers or raises, or if i've created a loose aggresive table image overbet the hand to make it look like a bluff. Overall it reallys depends on my opponents, but the bottoms line is you want to maximize the pot. I usually slow play monsters against donks.
