And why do u think so?

Men are much better in logical analysis, they are stronger, they are more agressive, but they control their emotions better though. This game was invented by men, so I have no doubt that men are better than women in poker and they will always be.

We normally see that most tournament players are men, but that does not mean poker players are less skillful.
I would not want to have Vanessa Rousso or Liv Boeree at my table.

Both men and women have their place in poker. Men just out number women prolly 20-1 though. With that said there are many many good female players.

I think that overall the best players are male but that's not because men are better, just because there seem to be a lot more men in the game than women.

I think its been a man's game for so long that most females got a late start getting into poker. But like I said lots of awesome female poker players grinding on a daily basis.

Men

Men are so much smarter and better at poker, you can tell when a woman is bluffing by looking at her vagina in the eye and see if it twitches when you raise

That's exactly it. Women have only one advantage, especially in a live game - they are remarkably distracting the attention of male players.

In men, however, there is a spirit of competition and a desire to prove their own importance on a competitive basis, as a result of which they are prone to more aggressive conduct of the game and making more substantial bets, respectively.

Ms Powers is a real good player. I almost ask her about playing some heads up for $.50/ $1 She said she didn't want to take my money, so that gave me the easy way out

Well.. don't need to underrate women's advantages at poker, i can just say B.O.T. Rule. What? Never heard of, of course you didn't, because you are a man. Means "Boobs on the table" and it works many times at live poker, i've heard. But now seriously, girls do have other advantages against men too, as many of male players has tendency to play "macho" against women and bluffing way too much, which can be very useful for a smart woman to bring her traps at work. I know that some regs even creating "girly sound names" to fool their opponents and bring them to more loose game against them.

You are opening up a can of worms with this thread. This needs to be deleted. When are we going to stop asking which gender is better and just let be. Have you ever met a couple that works together, they are an unstoppable force to be reckened with.

I would say that men play poker much better than women. Women do not like to take risks, they are more rational, in view of which, usually reaching a certain level of development, they prefer to have a bird in their hand, than a crane in the sky. Men are inherently irrational, as a result of which they are units, but they achieve maximum success.

1) In general you are probably right about that. Most of women are about to avoid risks at life and at the game too and often playing pretty tight too. This character tendency is referring to the stone ages, where men where hunters and had to be aggressive to gain some meat for the family, at the same time women were collectors, searching for fruits and berries and keeping children safe. Of course we are far away from that time, but the basics of character our prehistoric ancestors can be still found deep inside. But now we come to second point of your quote, with which i rather disagree.

2) It could be also in general about right if poker was just a game of luck and not a complicated game of intelligence, math and psychology as it actually is. Considering that, your words about men achieving maximum success, because they are more irrational and risky, than women, sounds to me as a totally joke. Seriously, poker skills have nothing to do with gender at all and poker skills are of course very rational. To play poker well and successful over long time you have to be rational, you need to have learned math of poker, you need to have strategy you have to learn psychology of other poker player types. Probably you are new to poker yourself, if you saying that men are more successful, just because they are more aggressive and do more bluffs and raises. No it's not about it. There are so many terribly loosing players in poker, who although very aggressive, but playing simply bad. They have no poker skills, they don't know when you need to be aggressive and when not. And it's like a birthday party for regulars if we have such player at table, believe me.
I also know some women, who are deeply understanding the concepts of the game and importance of aggression in a right time. Even if in other aspects of their lifes they are more tend as a women "playing safe", they have learned to be aggressive in poker and are very successful in it. Much more than the most "aggressive donks" men.

Men are better at poker because more men play poker and have been doing it longer. If poker tournament were composed primarily of women then, that champions list would see more women on it, simple as that.

In general i think men are better in poker because of the way of thinking logics and metrics and plenty other reasons mentioned above, and the fact that there is some really good women in poker just is an exception and just confirms the rule

Being better at poker does not depend on being a woman or a man, I think it depends on how you play, how much you know about the game, the strategies, the patience, the concentration and the luck.
I am a woman and I consider that I play very well and I have come very far but I also consider that there are people better than me, maybe men, or women, it can be even someone younger than I in age.

At the moment there is a gap, the men outnumber them. But it doesn't prove superiority . Therefore, it is necessary to compare of the money made by women and they won . Think in qualitative terms women if they do not win they will not lag too. far from men

Theres women out there that are super great and i belive there underestimated which is deadly in this game
