Of all the flips ever recorded in poker from everyone ever, what do you think the two most common hands that have matched up in those flips are?

I'm guessing QQs vs A/K is the most common flip ever.

I see it every day I play poker. I lose to A/K with QQs daily, and I beat A/K with QQs daily. I lose to QQs with A/K daily and I also beat QQs with A/K daily.

However I've only been playing poker for a bit over 2 years - so someone else might have more detailed knowledge on this topic than I do.

Whadda ya'll guessing? :)

Not going to guess but would run it through a program using hand history. Seen about every flip imaginable, nothing sticks out as reoccurring.

If you're playing slim margins QQ is going to be a winner over the long term against AK. It does seem to be a popular gamble for sure. If you can drag any other smaller pair or any other AX into the hand (which is usually very easy to do) QQ is a clear winner! For obvious reasons we see a lot more AK hands than QQ hands though. AK v any pair is the most popular flip overall.

Yeah because of combinatronics (spelling???) there are double the number of combos of A/K compared to any pair.

I think I'm right about this. lol QQ vs A/K is definitely the most common flip ever. :D:D:D

I think that any pocket pair vs AK is the most common coin flip.

The odds are, that over time, every flop turns out the same number of times.

I have seen quite a lot of 99 vs AK I have even ventured my 22 vs AK and I have come out victorious.
but in terms of popularity and frequency without a doubt QQ vs any AK AQ AJ is a classic

I also play every day and we can say that all pairs and combinations of cards can be attributed to this category. You just don't pay attention to it.

I pay attention to everything. This is a friendly discussion, and sure we see all kinds of flips down the line at different times of every event.
Late in events shorties are jamming any 2 suited broadway cards, any suited Ace, usually any pair.
When we are going for final table & big bucks we aren't seeing 77s get it in with 30bb vs another player.
BUT - QQs - heck yes! And the most often flip I see - is QQ vs A/K.

The interesting thing about flip is, it can be a great joy winning them , but huge disappointment when losing, specially when you are in a significant pot.

Hi.
Of course, everyone has their own vision of this issue and we will all be right. But in my personal opinion it is AK - AQ.
Good luck.

hi mate, maybe you got the question wrong since AK vs AQ is not a flip, there are huge advantage on side of AK.

Generally, at the table of 6 or more players AK vs QQ (or JJ) is the biggest flip we withnessed over years. However in a table of 3 or headsup games, we see lot of low pairs face AK. Personally I saw mostly 55vsAK.

I understand your response regarding a flip - but i personally classify a flip as two players putting in all of their chips (one effective stack) preflop, regardless of the cards. But most commonly we think of a flip as being roughly a 50/50 when the players hands are turned over before any community cards are shown.
I've also been seeing TT vs A/Q a lot lately. So that is certainly biased from my point of view because its been recent.

My most common flip is KK versus Ax. I hate KK. They never win.

a lot of flips when we play more also i think the QQ vs AK shows more frequent ante because it's two hands where the player can find an allin preflop because they're strong hands so the higher frequency between these two hands appear

Might want to learn your math. AK against QQ, or any pocket pair, is a virtual coin flip. QQ has an insignificant advantage over AK, but AK suited has an insignificant advantage over QQ, or any pocket pair.

AK v QQ is the 'el classico' of poker and is easily the most common hand to see two AIPF players holding, for various reasons.

It's more than double. There are six combinations of QQ and sixteen combinations of AK, so it's almost triple! :)

That is not the meaning of 'a flip' or 'flipping'. Of course you are welcome to personally define it differently, but if you want to be on the same page as the collective poker society, it makes sense to use the same terminology as everyone else.

For example, if one were to decide to start nicknaming a flush a 'boat' arbitrarily - things might become confusing! :D

Of course QQ v AK is the most standard and probably the most frequent flip. In second place is probably AK v AK
