in order to be able to win, you need to have all the qualities of a good chess player..These games combine analytical mind, logical thinking, and the ability to predict the opponent's move. And a great desire to win.

Good qualities...

Basically, the main characteristics that a poker player should have are:
1.- Concentration
2.- Study
3.- Tranquility
I think you are the most important, one thing leads to another.
There are other qualities that a poker player could have, but that is already considered his way of being or way of playing.:rock:

I would add known from bridge "table presence". In order to win, you should feel your opponents - what they can have while betting/calling/raising. Do they bluff? Do they play fast, with confidence? Or are they scared with every limp? Not only knowing, but making use of that knowledge is important.

- Listen to your intuition!
- Don't think about loosing

Have a list of your usual mistakes under your eyes and try not to make them.

Want to know the biggest difference between a bad player and a professional player? It’s the good player’s ability to lay down a good hand like top pair when they think they are beaten.
This sounds very simple, but it is very hard to do in practice partly because of the way our brains are built. We are naturally curious and we naturally want to win. When we fold, we surrender our chance to win the pot and we don’t get to satisfy our curiosity by finding out what our opponent has.

mostly it's LUCK!!!! so have lots of good luck

This is certainly the hardest part to train... but it's definitely very important :)

My list includes

1) Patience
2) Risk Tolerance
3) Focus / Attention to Detail
4) Critical Thinking
5) Emotional/Psychological Understanding

and of course the ability to mix in a little deception via good acting can do a long way too!

for me it is to go one hand at a time, taking as much information as possible in all aspects and the strategy to apply

What I would consider as an important factor, is to mature as a player as we play ahead and look at the bigger picture to win a tournament rather risking it all in a hand.

For me they are the variables of the game, because with that calculated you already have a good percentage at the time of betting on each hand

They are very good advice, I think that studying and being concentrated are the main ones. In my opinion, studying is the only way to improve at poker.
