I have played on a few online tables where the players were chatting in another language and while I do not blame them for that is who they are and what language they speak, but I still find it to be a little frustrating.

While I do not think it is fair to dictate that the chat be English only, like I have seen,
I do think that there should be some sort of chat translator plugin and that before you receive any chat messages, they have already been translated so that you may know what is being said at the table, HOW DO I KNOW that two people chatting in another language weren't in cahoots with one another, and that is why I am now posting a thread and not still in my tournament??? lol

I agree, it may not seem 'fair' to those who do not use English as a first language. I believe English to be an international language and most can fake their way with a few key words on the pokersites. (alot of people are very capable of using English at the table) It's natural to assume there could be some level of 'cheating' going on and we just hope it's not happening.

I can understand if it is some how frustrating if people are speaking a language at the table you don't understand. That is why i most of the time don't have the chat open unless i feel like chatting and there are some nice people at the table.

I think if people are cheating they are smart enough to not cheat in the chat. So i wouldn't be worried about people cheating in the chat.

Should we have to see this anyway? Curious.

It is a rule in most rooms that you can only speak English at the table, so you can always call a mod to the table.

Hardly two or more players at the table are colluding. Firstly, this is followed by the security service poker room, and secondly, there are players who understand what is at stake and their collusion immediately exposed. And the players implicated in Sgovio get banned. So it's not interesting. But the translator at the poker table would not hurt.

People are not so foolish as to be in collusion via chat, and there is the universal language of poker abbreviation.

They always do that, it doesn't supposed to be fair but almost everyone brake that "only english" rule.
Some people don't speak or understand english but if it's a poker concept then they do. It's basic.

No problem in conversations in other languages in the online poker chat, but if you feel disturbed can call the moderator at any time.

There are specific tournaments, which can speak in other languages such as Portuguese and Spanish, but the entry these tournaments is restricted to members of that region or country.

it is frustrating and not fair to others when it happens in regular tournament, but if you are not feeling comfortable you can ask for protection from room moderator who will warn them or stop their chat
