I must listen to a poker podcast for sure. Some clasical music and a cigar is also a must if I play deep tournaments. I usualy lie playing online, and use my bluetooth headset to listen to music while playing poker in my apartment, winning, and celebrating while smoking a nice cigar. What can I say, life is good.

It depends on the type of music, I get to concentrate, rock music doesn't help me at all, but electronic music is a genre that helps me to motivate me to make decisions in poker.

Do you like to hear which musical genre to play poker with?

Me I enjoy to listen to music from the 50's to the 70's. all I know it has to be up beat nothing slow or other wise i start to fall asleep.

Hi.
I choose the style of music depending on my mood. In my opinion, music, if it suits your mood, has a good effect on concentration. But in general, in most cases I just listen to the radio.

The music is very varied, I don't pigeonhole myself into a genre, the only thing is that I have to have my playlist ready before playing, normally it is at the beginning that I play when I listen to music, after about 3 hours I am already without music

Funnily enough, I have found that if I listen to music from the same genre for at least half an hour, my creativity and ability to concentrate increases. Before this effect sets in, however, it tends to distract me.

Which do you prefer?

Our Friday night poker home game (on Poker Stars) is always played with Music. We all pile into our Discord group and use one of the jukebox bots to queue up the music for us. It is a pretty diverse list. A couple of us are really into Classic Rock and a bit of punk. A couple others are really into dance/house music. One guy is really into The Who....and Baba O'Reilly is feature every single week.
For me -- there comes a certain point in the game where I let me hair down and put on AC/DC's Thunderstruck... That is when the ObbleeXYtrain comes in and aggression/intimidation mode is on. (Yes, I literally let my hair down, not metaphorically).
The trouble I have with music, is that even when it stops...it never stops. I always get an ear worm, playing a quatrain on loop...and it drives me up the wall. I had "Perfect Gentleman" looping in my head for two weeks recently.
(My worst case was in the 90's I had the little drummer boy song in my head for more than a year. That song is officially banned in my house. Even a little jokey 'pa-rum-pum-pum-pum" used to put one at risk of violence.

Does anyone else suffer from chronic ear worm?

I'd really like to find some treatment!

Me too, but sometimes when i am at a confortable level in the tournament (deepstack) i like to listen to some music just to wait patiently for a premium hand to play.

I don't like listening to music at a poker table. I like to be very aware of the players and the action. If I did listen it would be electronic dance. Guetta, Harris Avicci etc.
