That would be nice, but then some graphic artist at FTP is doing a ton more work for only ~$35 an avatar, whereas now they are getting ~$3,500 an avatar

Not if there's a 1,000FTP (or 500) tourney for them. I think it'd be cool.

That would really be a great tournament.
Places 1-5th - Private Avatars

While I hate to be a downer, this would never happen. At least not on a regular basis. They have to issue a new software update every time they introduce a new avatar which, I suspect, is why they make custom ones so expensive. Plus they have to vet them for appropriateness which would take forever if they were giving loads of them away cheap.

I think it would be cool to be able to represent actual sports teams. Although, they would have to pay for that, and I don't think they would like that.

Like if it was football, have mini helmets with the color and logo of your team.

Or for basketball have the color and name/logo on the jersey.

And if they could really pull some strings, add Div. 1 college sports teams. Like my jayhawks :D

I turned off Avatars so long ago, the only time I think of turning them on is when a little girl next door comes over and is watching me play "Mr. Joe, where is your mummy? Turn on the cartoons!"

Maybe I should look around for something that looks like me, any suggestions? I am 6' 6" 180 lbs and look just like Brad Pitt.

Do ya think they'd have to do a new update just to introduce one new personal avatar? So you mean we're getting updates everytime we see a pro who has a new avatar (instead of just one of the standard ones off the site)? I kinda doubt it myself.

I like the idea of personal avatars as well. We should be allowed to create our own expressions of anger, confusion, boredom, happy as well! Exaggerating eyeball size, teeth, nose.etc for fun! i would def save up 100K FTPs for one!!!

Custom avatars are expensive fair enough, perhaps a stock male or female face of each ethnicity which are customisable with glasses and wigs and what not, that way all those creative types arent restricted by the FTP poverty were in.

They do push an update every time a new avatar is released. Not saying that they put out an update that only has the new avatars, but they include the new avatar in the update package. You can see every one of the custom avatars in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Full Tilt Poker\Graphics\Table\Avatars\"(obviously change to your install location). The Private folder has all of the custom ones for people who bought them or won FTOPs or other events, the Pro folder has, you guessed it, the pros avatars, and the Public folder has all of the other ones. The only time that these are updated are at program updates

I, 90% of the time, have them off because they are distracting.

I usually use the dog or the shark.

If I were to want a new 1, I'd like 1 in the form of a bulldog like this 1...

So there's no pro personalized avatars added... except for during an update. Is this what you're sayin'?
