"NH" "VNH"

I was just wondering if this annoys anyone else besides me.

I can understand if someone has like Pocket Jacks and hits 3 of a kind or something like that. I'll give them a NH same for Pocket Aces or AK Suited hitting a flush.

But when someone wins with J4 off or 73 suited I just can not understand anyone saying NH. And it pains me to see it lol

Sorry I am just ranting.

I've seen it given for Ace high. I've seen GG (good game) given on a site match for someone who had sat out the entire game.

Sometimes you see someone playing well over a extended period, or make a good but difficult call you can give positive feedback there, but why commend someone for just being lucky enough to be dealt a good hand? Gets my goat as well.

Also a touch of the old sarcasm perhaps as well

You hear the commentators on tv often say "he may have said nice hand, but you can be sure he doesn't mean it"

Especially when someone has just taken half your stack with the J4 os or 73 suited

Yet even when a crap hand wins.. it still is a nice hand non-the-less.. it is and was the winning hand. Doesn't have to be pretty to win but it is nice no matter what.

I think it's appropriate only if the hand was played after the flop and someone has suckered someone else into giving up half his/her stack or perhaps going all in and taking them out.

I usually give nh to an eejit who won a pot after playing 63o after a pre-flop raise a hitting a straight on the river. We have to encourage them after all !
