Is NL Omaha better than NL holdem?

Holdem more intresting i think. for me NLHE the best

Omaha is a good game, but Hold'em is much more interesting and more prizes

I also prefer Texas Hold'em

Omaha is more complicated - that's why it's more difficult. Too big a roller coaster for me.

This is a cute question - In the real realm of poker games it is rare to find a serious NL Omaha variant around and its most likely for peanut gallery stakes.


Pot Limit Omaha is the standard especially at 888 and PokerStars.

Live, its a mix of PLO and Fixed Limit Omaha. I have yet to find NL Omaha in the casinos where I am from.

However, if I were to make a comparisson between the No Limit Hold Em and Omaha variations I would say - NL Omaha would be much more action and drawing. The issue you run into is another playing can flop a monster hand or even a monster draw and ship stack.

Now you're almost always priced out so there's not much play available.

Whereby, in NL Hold Em' I think there's more play available. Especially to read the cards. Whereas in Omaha you need to see through the soul sometimes to get a read on cards.

I actually love to play them both it's just two extra cards that make it different but the results will always be the same you win some you lose but you keep playing you play to win another day okay Craig lol

Man, whenever someone compares Holdem to Omaha it's screwing my mind :stupid:, since Omaha is Hold'em too (the "Hold'em" part in the name indicating the use of the community cards, which are not present in other variations like draw poker and Stud).


Personally, I prefer Omaha Holdem variations, but not the NL for sure. It should be FL or PL. Otherwise it's too much gambling and too much overreliance on pocket pairs. Unfortunately for me, the more popular game dictates where the fish swims. It's more wise to swim with the fish, so I play mostly NL Texas Holdem.
