This is an interesting subject, well to me it is :)

You see I try to play tight and being selective on the cards I do and don't play. Yet this is more about the style of betting I have and boy it does hurt me at times. Took me a good long while to bet aggresively, yet what I failed to learn is my betting style was maniac aggresively. If I have a hand pre-flop(I bet and/or raise), on the flop(I bet and/or raise), the turn(I bet and/raise) and so forth. I make people pay to beat me. Few other examples if I limp and a few others limp with me, I always keep in mind that I normally need 2 pair or better to fire at the pot. If the flop misses me in late postion and 1 limper along with the blind checks to me, I will fire away. You check to me and I fire away and then you call. I am going to fire all the way down to the river. My opponents show no aggresion towards me with a bet or a raise, I want to win the pot without a showdown. Yet I know there are circumstances I do see after I bet and a or opponents call like flush or straight draws. I do slow down, but most of the time I bet pot bets or re-raise a bet.

At times this is dangerous because of the fluctuation of not slowing down on the stong betting. Yet I hate giving my opponents the chance to out draw on me because I wasn't so overly aggresive.

Can others describe other styles they have or have seen used per example that mini-raise wich I think is pointless.
