ok im in 2x tournys at once i get the EXACT pocket 9s. both tables 9h9c. what is chances of me hitting a set on both table off flop with the 9of D. whats the odds of this? lol

Well that seems extremely rare to me. I have had same cards at two different tables but different flops and position.

ya that's pretty rare. one time i had pocket kings 3 times in a row!

odds of a pocket pair = 3/51 ~= 0.059
odds of setting that pocket pair = 1 - (48/50)(47/49)(46/48) = 144/1225 ~= 0.118
Odds of the same 2 at the other table = (2/52)(1/51) ~= 0.000754
Odds of the same set = 1 - (49/50)(48/49)(47/48) = 0.06

Odds of all happening = (0.059)(0.118)(0.000754)(0.06) = 0.000000315

= 1 in 3174997

So not that rare, I mean it happens about one in 3 million times.

i have never seen or it has never happened to me but i wqould not be complaing right.lol....i personally think that is awesome it happened........did you win both i bet you did.........

Since hands on two tables overlap some it'd be less than that.
It would be the odds of getting the same hand twice in a row though... I think. I suck at math.

yeah i won both of em :) someone at both table went allin lol i was like ohhh yeah lol yeah very rare it happends :) i was tickled lol

Right, well it's actually the odds of it happening on 2 specific hands. If he had said at the beginning "I will have the same set on hands 5 and 293" it would be the same odds. So it's actually slightly better as well because if it happened twice in a row he'd think it was odd as well. Basically what we want is the odds of something that or more unbelievable happening. But even rounding up (more probable), we still get about 1 in 3 million. Not very likely. This also assumes he's only playing 2 tables, but I think that's what he said.
