I am new to Omaha and was wondering how certain rules work.

For instance if you have an Ace of spades in your 4 undercards and there are 4 spades on the board it will not give you the flush. Another example would be if there are 2 pair on the 2 5's on the board and 2 7's and you are holding a seven you will not be awarded a full house.

Does anyone know what I am talking about and if so can you explain?

You HAVE to play 2 of your hole cards.

I see, so you can't play the spade and just use another card with no value?

If you played the one spade + one card of no value, you wouldn't have a flush then.

Yes. You must play EXACTLY two of your hole cards combined with any three community cards to make your 5 card hand.
