so, after a week of some nice finishes in some micro-buy-in mtts, I find I'm rolled for 25NL, and can take shots at 50NL.
Problem is, I've only just started grinding cash for the last month(for the take 2 bonus) so have only been playing 5NL FR. My last 3 sessions at 5NL(4-tabling) have all been winning ones, and over the month I'm up 5BI+
I would like to continue moving up the levels, playing mtts when I have the time, and ring when I havent got much time.
My question is, what stake should I move up to from 5NL?

LOL, ty for the encouragement! I'm still grumpy  Haven't left the house in 10 days from this surgery, kids driving me crazy, card dead as all get out. Maybe next week things will change. Think I'll give up on poker for the day, go play WOW, take my aggression out by killing a bunch of low level noobs, muhahaha!

whether or not you are a republican/democrat or just hate Michael Moore, he still has some good points in this movie

I hate Michael Moore, I won't contribute to his finances by paying to see his movie. I'll probably wait to find a copy floating around on the net and watch it for free though. He hosts his damn film festivals every year where I live and I've seen him irl a few times from him tramping all over town like the big hot shot egotistical self-righteous sob that he is. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. (Did I mention I'm grouchy?)

Believe it or not, I finished it off in less than 24 hours. Incredibly valuable stuff in that book, particularly relating to reducing tilt in both duration and intensity; it has already had a tremendous effect on the quality of my game, and my ability to make tilt as light and as short as possible. I strongly recommend it to anyone who has ever had issues with tilt (in other words, everybody). And the advice he gives translates far beyond the poker table, into everyday life and the challenges it holds. Really great stuff.

Even though you have enough in your BR to play 25NL (& possibly 50NL) & being you said you would only play ring when you don't have much time, I would just move to 10NL.

From the sounds of it, you are doing well in your MTT game so there's really no need to rush & jump into a significant higher level of ring IMO. Try 10NL :top:

thanks SF, yeah, I think I'll move up to 10NL and find my feet again after 5NL.
I love the mtts, and most of the time I can play them, but now and then I only have an hour or so, thats why Im learning ring FR.
Thanks again.

Listen to the words in this song...

I know this is a 3 year old song (released Aug. 29th 2006) & obviously the words have different meaning behind them but I think this is how a lot of us feel about the game of poker. Well, @ least me...

shhhhh, listen :albertein

Ugh... Haven't been playing much holdem recently. So I log in to play a little hoping to kinda fall in love again.

Lost a ~200bb on a Queen high flush vs the A high (both of us with suited hole cards)

Then another >200bb stack on KK vs AQ pre flop. Flop had an ace.

Now.. I am not really here to complain. I know how the game works and besides these two hands I was winning lots of small pots. So had the odds gone my way on the kings I'd have been up. Neither one really all that bad a beat etc etc etc...

But I am having the hardest time wanting to play, though I WANT to want to, if you know what I mean. :)

Ah well.. I'll win it back eventually. Queen high flushes are good an awful lot, and kings beat AQ more than they lose to it.

Just felt like sharing my pain. ;)

Thanks.
