Online poker safety

Hi,
I'm wondering how is the safety of online poker. I'm concerned about:
1. Other players intercepting my session and seeing my hand
2. Safety of my payment details a poker site stores.

Anyone has any experience/opinions?

The software communicates securely with SSL but still the session can be taken over. I found the website that describes it in detail but don't want to post the link not to get banned as I've just registered to this forum so PM only.

Stick to the well known sites and you will be fine. afaik there was only one episode where someone was able to see the cards and they got caught. (fairly certain this was the superuser at UB)
As far as your payment information, that is secure, but if you are going to have large amounts of money online, make sure you have a good password, and don't leave the setting on auto log in or remember my password.
