Outs

I was watching world series last night and suddenly realied that Rockies had "5 outs" when Papelbon came to the mound.

I wonder whether the usage of "outs" in poker actually comes from baseball?

there is no way i can see it coming from baseball

think about outs are good in poker {need to win the pot if ur trailling}
but in baseball if u have 3 outs in the inning,ur inning is done { not a good thing for offense}
