do you feel pressure or get annoyed by family or friends always asking how your night was at the casino? I hate them knowing im playing cause they will ask how i did and if i lose its embarresing and annoying to say i lost. i kinda wish no one knew i played poker for this reason.

I totally feel you, I really only play online but when I am asked if I am winning or losing that is a really annoying question if I am losing because they seem to not understand that losing is apart of poker and they tend to find it really funny. And after I have been grinding for like 10 hours that question could set me off lol.

First time I went to the casino to play poker I was a winner and I knew I was going to be asked how I did so I told them I lost before telling them the truth. Its only annoying to be asked how you did when you lose its a great feeling to be asked when your up just the way it is.

That already happened to me. I lost three consecutive nights at the casino and my family didn't know it at that time, but after a week I finally won--giving back what I've lost. My family then knew about the amount I've won, and asked me how did it goes and ask for some amount from what I've won.

people dont get it. i was playing a few tournies and doing pretty well and 2 of my friends show up unannounced and just stare at my screen and go "you winning?" blah blah. I lost all of them..they go, maybe you should give it up if you lost...of course i start pushing almost everything because i assume they dont want to sit and wait an hour for me to finish

I only tell my family/ friends of my massive losing days. That way when they inevitably throw that intervention I've been waiting for I can surprised them with my successes. Cant possibly go wrong, right?

I hate THAT QUESTION. how is it going? or HOW much are you winning?

i always lie my ass off. i tell them ive won crazy amounts of money so they can just stop asking. cause if you say your losing but dont worry my monthly green line is on an upswing they ar going to think i need to be put into a mental institution.

Just turn it back on them by asking how much money do you earn and if the tell you then ask how much their significant other earns, then tell them you have won twice their combined incomes.

Or you can be brutal and just tell them to piss off.

they are just trying to make conversation, so that would be pretty harsh. it just gets old people who dont even play poker asking if im winning, i mostly just say i did alright,

I always say either "I'm up a lil" , or "I'm about even"....nobody wants to hear a gambling lecture u may get from saying you lost....and if u give the same answer every single time, they will quit asking.

"I did ok" works too.. if they persist try going on a bad beat rant, go into minute detail of every bad beat that u can recall...trust me, they will stop asking lol

What annoys me the most is when they tell me i have a gambling problem and that poker is gambling and then i try to get into full detailed analysis of BRM and how it works and etc etc. i can tell they think ive gone crazy so i have recently decided to not bother talking about poker to anyone but my poker friends.

I understand you, it's so boring when people ask me how much money I won last night, sometimes when my family see that I'm playing online, they ask how I'm doing, but not because they want to support because they are totally against poker here.

i think they are just asking to be polite and start up a conversation! my dad and i always talk about poker and how we did, and how we can play better next time!! we both play at the omaha hi lo cash tables at the Hard Rock, and he always tells me which ones to avoid!! LOL but never be embarrased about losing, everyone loses!!
