So they could ban allowing any electronics into the room. This about the most boring live event I've ever seen in my life. I mean who's winning these hands? Just not enough info.

I meant to ban any railers from bringing any electronics in the room. Maybe someday somebody will figuire out some way to do it. It's prob'ly better just to follow the updates on twittter.

There's no way to do it at all, the only way to have hole cards in a 'live' stream is to have some sort of significant delay or people will find a way to relay information quickly to players at the table

Two completely separate broadcast sources. The hole card cams are monitored by the ESPN crew that are sequestered out in the production van. They are edited into the ESPN broadcast. The live streams from within the casino are usually run by the casino itself or some other media company they bring in to do it. Lots of casinos stream their events, but none with hole cards for all the reasons mentioned.

Speaking of, it's 7:10pm EDT and I still get the "Please stand by. Your event is about to begin" message on ESPN3...

I thought so . The final table is about to start. I'm at the final table of a deepstack Rise poker donkament 3rd out of 6 w/over 25K. Anybody want to wish me luck? lol.

Just started now at 7:20 on ESPN3. URL is http://www.espn3.com but your ISP has to have a license to broadcast it, so may not be available to everyone. My ISP just licensed it several months ago.

Oh, and GL pcgnome.

And I guess since this is "live" we're not getting hole cards either on the first hand, even though they have the hole card graphics up. Maybe they don't have the hole card cams patched in yet, or require a delay due to the aforementioned cheating potential.

And the dealer on the 2nd hand just told them to hold their cards up to the camera, but they still aren't showing them.

It just occurred to me that the 20 minute late start of the broadcast might have been to create the delay for the hole card cams. So they may just be having some technical issues with broadcasting them.

EDIT: Guess not, since the announcer just said "we're live which is why you don't see the hole cards." So I guess the hole cards will show on a later rebroadcast.
