Poker is strictly a hobby. I'm sure there's a few on here who are probably obsessed with it. That said, two of my friends go out 6 times a week, just to play live poker. They have to check the time doesn't clash their games, before agreeing to spend time with others...

For me, poker is just a hobby, but it was also my job for a long time.
I don't feel addicted, as I could stop at any time if I had more important and pleasant things to do, even for months.

It's also a hobby for me. I play for fun, but nevertheless I am patient and disciplined enough that I also get a small income from the game.

I used to be into poker just to spend my time and play for fun now I take it very seriously and I've switched to poker as a hobby now poker is like an income for me so I'm gradually climbing the limits

Hobby.

I know from experience what gambling can do to relationships, I was once addicted to slot machines and horse racing, luckily for me I was single but there were times that I owed so much money to friends and family, my wage packet was gone the moment I got it.
Sure there were good times when I had so much in winnings I could throw my wage packets in my sock drawer and just ignore them, but those times were far and few apart. Then I met the Woman of my dreams and we courted for a while and she put up with me and my addiction, One day I turned up at her door on a Saturday afternoon which was unusual because she knew I spent every Saturday afternoon in the betting shop.
When she asked me why I was not in the bookies, I said to her " we have been going out together for a while now, and I know you have nothing against me and my gambling habits, but I have decided to quit,"
When she asked me Why? i told her that I was happy putting her through the good times when I was winning, but I didn't want to put her through the bad times, She just said "sounds like you are serious" I replied "I am, about you, and I hope one day we will get married"
That was 46 years ago and we are still together. Sure I like a flutter now and again but I limit my horse racing to betting only on the Race course, only with money I can afford to burn, and as for slots I gave them up years ago, they are a mugs game anyway!
Poker is game I will not gamble with Sure I will play MTTs Live in casinos but only buying in for what I can afford to lose, as for On-line I promised my wife 20 years ago, I would never make a deposit and I have kept that promise.
Poker is a game of skill, and if you have a good grasp of the game you can build a Bankroll from freerolls and Like me Play on-line for free, Once I made my first £25 on-line I used that money buying into Micro stake games and worked up from there, So now every game I play is from money I have won, therefore every game is a freeroll.
You don't have to play Poker to make money, there are other ways to make a living, but you can make money playing Poker! there is a subtle difference!

For me its just a hobby and I hope it will stay as a hobby. I like to play poker but never want to become addicted. I had a few moments, where I felt addicted with the result that I couldn't sleep well and felt bad. Not because I lost money, just felt unsatisfied...
