Nowadays, any discipline that has a measurable result can be called a sport. What is the difference between sports competitions in which you pay money for the opportunity to start with cash prizes for individual places and a poker tournament in which payments and bonuses for individual places are also clearly described.
Physical and intellectual effort go hand in hand in any competitive situation, so in my opinion, tournament poker is a sport.
