Yes. Poker can be addictive. People with a predisposition are more sensitive.
Suppressing the effects requires a lot of discipline.

Yes, it definitely can be. Like many things that involve risk and reward, poker can become addictive if it stops being just a game and turns into an unhealthy habit. The key is balance—knowing your limits, playing for fun, and making sure it doesn’t interfere with your responsibilities or well-being. When handled responsibly, it can be a great way to enjoy strategy and competition without crossing that line

No, poker cannot be addictive. It's like being addicted to food and water, as well as money. The point is poker is just a tool that brings the money. But it so happens that besides the fact that you can make money playing poker, this game is also very exciting.

I think poker can be addictive but it can be "gambling" related addiction only in very rare cases

Faster type games like slots, blackjack and roulette are what trigger gambling addiction. Poker addiction, which is extremely rare to begin with is most often more comparable to video game addiction

As the saying goes, "too much of anything is bad." It's important to know your limits, but only experience teaches you that.

My routines become habit which then has become a semi-addiction. As i get irritated when I miss games or days. Mostly because calendar is blank and my days are empty.

I think it depends on each one, some people are more prone to addictions.

try not to get too excited about the game, play while it's fun, if you start to have a big compulsion to play it's better to avoid it

It's a hobby for most people and an addiction for very few. Or maybe they get addicted to the adrenaline rush. As long as you allocate a budget and don't spend more than you can afford to lose, you should be ok. Some people smoke, some people drink alcohol, some people do drugs. I think poker, even as an addiction is preferable than the rest of the other addictions. Nobody would say chess players have an addiction. All that to say, if you enjoy playing poker, no reason to feel guilty about it.

It is necessary to balance and analyze all the moves, take advantage of the winnings correctly and play as a hobby so as not to get addicted

Yes, it can be, but if you don't have discipline, it can become an addiction; but this can happen with anything in life. A person can become addicted to anything.
