Bushido (, “Warrior's Way”) is the samurai code of honor, ethics, and conduct in feudal Japan. Focused on virtues such as loyalty, courage, and justice, Bushido continues to influence discipline, respect, and work ethic in Japanese culture, and is used in martial arts and personal development.
Inspired by Bushido, I created and have been improving my own Bushido Poker ever since.

It consists of phrases that govern my conduct as a poker player. Reading the rules, which were added throughout my poker journey, it's interesting to observe my evolution as a player.

Feel free to contribute if you wish.

1. When playing, only bet everything if you have a better game or hand and are looking at the community cards. With few exceptions where community cards are favorable.
2. Only go all-in if you have a better streak or hand and the cards on the table are favorable. Exceptions also apply here.
3. Always evaluate the behavior of other players.
4. Observe your position at the table in each round and play accordingly.
5. Never seek a flush. Only act if it is already formed and depending on your highest card. Only act in a four-card community flush if yours is one of the two highest possible cards.
6. Never pay high stakes by relying on cards that come on the turn or river.
7. Observe the community cards for bluffing. When a pair shows up on the table. When a high card appears after a low card flop.
8. Be patient. Your hand will arrive.
9. Don't go after a player who has already beaten you.
10. A King or an Ace alone isn't strong enough. High cards need to be accompanied by a strong card for the hand to be good.
11. Always observe and evaluate the possibilities that the cards on the table offer to other players.
12. Giving up is better than suffering bad beats.
13. If you give up, don't give up. Use the free time to observe and evaluate other players.
14. In tournaments, you need to be aggressive (but sober and attentive to the rules above) at the beginning, when the blinds are low, to create a solid stack for when the blinds increase.
15. Strong hands don't beg. Either they raise the stakes or they give up.
16. Those who call without a plan pay to lose.
17. Position isn't a detail: it's power.
18. If you don't know why you're betting, quitting was already the best option.
19. Stolen blinds also count as a win.
20. Pot control is the winning player's weapon.
21. The ideal pair is not marriage.
22. To bluff without capital is to hand over everything.
23. Avoid placing large pots out of place.
24. Earn little when you can, lose little when you need to.
25. When the table is low, the villains bet high and you only have high cards: the withdrawal was already certain before the bet.
26. Don't fight over pots that don't want you.
27. You don't win a bad table by skill, but by resisting.
28. Your profit comes from game selection, not heroes.
29. A strong hand out of position wins little or gives up early.
30. Low table + high bet = respect.
31. Don't remain in your hands where, even if you win, you continue to take risks.
32. Good poker is one that causes little loss and yields a lot over time.
33. If you're afraid of dying, don't be born.
34. It's not possible to be profitable in poker waiting for excellent hands to play. That doesn't mean you have to play any bad hand that comes up.
35. The AA loses to a set of 2s, and if the opponent is 25 and makes two pairs of 22 and 55, his AA also dies.
36. Big hands require slow decisions.
