Poker- Dependency or Hobby?

I srsly want this game to support more on improving skills such as decisions making, assets management and opportunity costs =), so yeah that means something in my life.

After that, took a 3 month break and only play once in a week/couple of weeks.

He started playing poker about four years ago as a hobby. Later I thought, why not earn poker. And abruptly began to play. When I was learning to play, I eat, slept, and breathed poker. It's a fun game, but it's nothing that I want to build an unhealthy dependence to. My father gambled away multiple millions of dollars when I was a kid, and we lost our house, business, and caused my parents to get a divorce. Granted that's an extreme case, I see how it could happen. I try to distance myself from getting too attached. It's fun as hell though

It's just a hobby for me, I am not good enough to play at a consistent level and I am too focused on other things in life to play a lot. I prefer to study math.
