There is a lot of poker players out there that think they can make a living at video poker they can forget it. Holdem poker on video forget it .The only way you can make a good living is to get a job and play poker for fun.

Are you including online poker with video poker? I agree that most will not make it online, but I am just wondering.

History has proven, that you can make a living out of POKER. Maybe you should talk to our pros here at CC or watch some videos. Try YT and grinding, maybe sth shows up.

The only way to enjoy Texas Holdem in my opinion is to play live games not games that are controlled by Algorithms.

Every poker player cannot turn a tournament buy-in into retirement money or win a satellite entry to the wsop and end up at the final table but a few have. So turning your poker dreams into a reality is a long shot but it's not an impossibility so I say 'shuffle up and deal' and keep dreaming.

A random card shuffler means the time you take to make decisions will change the dealt cards. Unlike live play where the cards are preset and already determind before you play the hand. So in live play it should be less random and more predetrmind at least that's what i thought.

The only thing history has proven is if you play cards long enough .The house ends up with all the Money..
P.S. I have nothing but praise for players who earn a living at poker especially Brick & Mortor players.

It may be a silly dream, but it's a dream that's helped grow the game of poker into what it is today. Kind of like any other popular hobby that could potentially make bank like singing. I'd definitely say that this mindset is a good one because it helps grow the community of poker as a whole.

Due to such dreamers, ALL online rooms become richer, but still they give hope to every player (dreamer) to win, and we naively believe but there is NO way back.

at all the casinos i go to the cards are shuffled under the table, for all intents and purposes that is the same as the algorithms you're referring to. live games and online games all employ the same understanding and strategy. there are other reasons you may enjoy live over online but to just say it's due to the algorithm doesn't make sense to me.

Video poker and online poker are basically the same game. You have programed games in each one and the algorithms control the outcome of the hand.

Yes people make a living playing poker...while most people cannot make a good living doing the same you can study the game and improve it...this will end up making you better than the average Joe...if you study the game and apply what you learn at the tables you will see yourself winning more and more...sometimes skill sometimes a game of chicken...knowing when to pock your spots and when to fold are key to winning...good luck

In my opinion Algorithms control the outcome of every hand being played online.
Once the cards are shuffled above or under the table in a casino the deck is set to be dealt there are no more algorithms to Deal with .The advantage that the B & M have over online is the Discards they never go back in the deck the same way.

I would not say about all players that everyone can earn a living in poker, but my friend and acquaintance knows how to play very well and plays a lot in tournaments and wins very well in them and gets good prizes for which he has enough for life and that’s all from poker, he never worked at regular work and has been playing poker for about 6-7 years and even participated in a live poker event and won about 20,000 euros there, the game brings him a small income which he is happy with and which he has enough for holidays on seas and for other needs

Poker tournaments live the cards are shuffled on top of the table

Sounds like a guy that just gave up on his dream. Maybe you got unlucky, or maybe you're just not good enough.

I disagree that you cannot make money from poker. It's clear for anyone that spends 2 minutes looking at the richest poker players that you can make a living from it. Even professionals that have never won an WSOP or EPT or WPT or any other major tournament or even recognised in the main stream can and do earn decent livings.

Don't give up on your dream...just get better.

I disagree with you. I am personally acquainted with people who play poker online and have a regular, monthly income from the game. But personally, I play poker for fun.

I totally agree with you friend, professional poker is something else, since video poker is pure distraction and without the intention of being millionaire.
