Good evening, all right?

In the midst of so much talk about EV, bad beat, GTO and bankroll... sometimes we forget that poker moves far beyond the cards.

  • Play with friendship.
  • Relationship.
  • Family.
  • Time.
  • Head .
Some people have found life partners in poker. Others lost friendships, heard criticism at home, or went through difficult phases because of the game.

So... in your case, did poker bring someone closer or away from ?

It's worth a funny story, outburst, crap, reconciliation... it's just worth being honest.

👇 I want to read real stories from here in the community.

Without judgment... unless there's slowroll in the middle

AND THE...

My friends and family are not connected with poker in any way, so they do not influence my game.

Good evening everyone,
Poker has brought me closer to many people because of the shared passion and the conversations around the game. At the same time, it teaches you about patience and emotional control, not only at the table but also in life.
For me, poker is more than cards; it’s about the people, the lessons, and the experiences along the way. No slowrolls allowed 😄

It’s brought me closer to people through shared experiences, long conversations about hands, strategy discussions, and the friendships that form around the game.
There’s something unique about spending hours at a table with people who share the same passion.

At the same time, poker can create distance when it starts taking priority over relationships, responsibilities, or when emotions from the game spill into real life.

Poker for me is a hobby, and I always try to cherish relationships at events like birthdays, work, family, and friends. Putting poker aside for a while to spend time with these people.

Poker allows me to spend more time at home and be around some members of my family more often, but it also leaves me with less time to visit relatives who live farther away. Perhaps the fact that I spend so much time on the computer makes some family members less willing to come and visit me.

Poker is a mirror of human relationships that only strengthens what already exists between people. But quitting poker is certainly not a good idea, especially if there aren't many other prospects, and you'll have to find compromises.I had no conflicts.

Poker has only brought me friendships. I've met many great people through the game and I've never drifted away from anyone because of it. I also don't usually talk about poker with people who don't play, so I've never had any conflicts for that reason.

Poker has brought me closer to many people and I've made many friends over the course of 12 years. It's always great to play, to relax and be happy.

Poker has done a bit of both for me. It brought me closer to people who understand the game, the challenges, and the mindset required to deal with variance and pressure. Some of the best conversations and friendships I've had started around poker. At the same time, there have been moments when people who don't understand the game saw it as just gambling, which led to unnecessary criticism or misunderstandings. I think the key is balance. When poker stays in its proper place and doesn't take over family time, relationships, or personal well-being, it can be a positive part of life. Like many passions, it tends to bring people closer when it's managed well and create distance when it isn't.
