Is the phrase, "bad beat?"

(Was I supposed to wait 30 minutes? If so, ignore this message for the next 2 minutes!)

No m'lady.

The time clock was thrown out with the bad fruit. Ask away. ;)

Wow, that's a really good guess. But, unfortunately, no.

Maybe Lark should have side bet me on how long this one would take. She would be rich by now hehe.

Hint - It would benefit you to ask a few more questions to narrow it down. I don't believe that you're going to guess it, based on what's been asked and answered.

OK. Recap time!

This is a non-illusionary :)D) phrase, posted by the real Bear, that may be hard to figure out for at least some of us due to the buxomy teacher that Ron had in high school. If taken the wrong way, it might give someone an attitude.

Phrase is related to a poker action, doesn't include the word "dealt" or "deal" and can be said after losing. It has a specific meaning to poker. It is here going as two words, although it can be spoken as three or even one. Apparently doesn't involve shrimp or anything about life being like a box of chocolates.

The first word in the phrase starts with the letter 'B' and it isn't:
bad beat
bust out
Bear's better (though it should be!)
bad news
bubble boy
big hand
backdoor flush
bullshit

Correct. For the purposes of clarification, instead of "If taken the wrong way, it might give someone an attitude," I would say instead that the action or phrase relating to the action might cause the player to have a bad attitude.

I love your summations, Debbielicious! Joy to my face!

I am stumped by this one. I suspect because somehow I'm thinking in the wrong direction, but I don't know how to right it! ;)

I shall sleep on it and try again in the morning (assuming the collective doesn't get to the answer before I log in again).

G'nite all!

I'm happy to provide another hint. When I sent Lark my solution, I said, "They're going to get this one right away, especially if they think of who is the quizzer..."

This phrase is all too familiar to me, more so than most of the rest of you, but it isn't specific to me, and it doesn't have my name "Bear" in the answer.
