A book I read a few years ago called "Ghost's at the table" gave a definitive history of Poker and although I would not have bought the book myself (a gift from someone) I found it very interesting and enjoyable read. The author even played in the World Series of Poker Final, just to see how hard it was and only lasted until day two,  which was an achievement in itself.

Poker is no longer restricted to smoke filled bars and back rooms, hidden from view, it is widely available to the whole World thanks to the Internet, and although it's popularity may dwindle a little from time to time, I feel it will be around for a lot of years to come.

I myself  have been brought back to playing a lot more on-line games because of the recent events (Covid Pandemic) and will probably still be playing on-line games in the future because they will never cure Covid completely, and it will always be a risk.
