Rounders is my favorite Poker movie but there are some gambling movies that I really do enjoy

such as Poker King (Taiwan) and the God of Gamblers/Saints of Gamblers series (Hong Kong) and From Vegas to Macau gets a mention too!

'The Sting' is the movie that got me into card magic as I wanted to be able to do the thing Paul Newman does in the scene on the train where he is shuffling the cards but there's always aces on the top... 14 years later and as a reasonably successful amateur magician I can do much more than that...

I never mix magic with poker as I don't need to cheat to win, where would be the fun in that..?

Rounders is so gooood. I always recommend that movie to all my friends who kinda "know" Poker.

Rounders is the classic though. I also liked High Roller. It's a little dark, but a solid poker move. There's not a ton out there that are great.

Like documentaries or actual movies? All-In and Kid Poker are good documentaries

in the Asian scene movies like God of Gambler Series and the From Vegas to Macau are some good ones I like about Poker and gambling.

Poker King was a recent asian poker movie.

deuces wild, though only in part! Rounders is great! Theres the new one with ryan reynolds, and the trip to louisiana but i cant think the name. Its more about gambling in general.

I believe the film with RR is called 'Mississippi Grind'.
It is a remake of 'California Split' by Robert Altman (1974), which is a far superior glimpse into the mind/heart/lifestyle of old school gamblers. It's also funnier and has that delightfully odd 70s idiosyncratic way of telling the story, in that there doesn't seem to even be a story.

Also 'The Cincinnati Kid'.

Rounders, Casino Royale, Cincinatti Kid, Runner Runner, and quite a few more films out there that are pretty good. I recently watched Runner Runner on TV since it was on. It is more about poker sites that break the law and catching one of the criminals but there is a little bit of poker action in the beginning.
