When I was in my early teens, we had a pool table in our basement...it was great for parties and just having a few friends over to play for fun...never for money, because I always won...wasn't fair having such a home field advantage...but being a very good pool player had zero correlation with my poker prowess...I was horrible, even in university...started to take poker seriously when they started showing poker on TV.

When I was young I lived in the pool hall and then in the bars and
made enough money to pay for my drinks and more. I like poker
but am just average at playing it.

This is not surprising, in my opinion. Many players who love billiards also love card games, not only poker but also others. And by the way, I also love billiards.

I was a poolhall junkie

Growing up in a pool hall you learn to gamble it just about all games and you find out what you excel at... I played chess backgammon one pocket and 9 ball 10 card gin and tonk and of course poker my true love...
I'll tell you what though I am a big fan of backgammon I wish there was more backgammon action everywhere it's a fantastic gambling game!
I like gambling games where the person that is better at the game is going to win the majority of the time...

For me I used to play pool every day before, yes I was playing well, it's a very fun game, but when I learned poker I don't care about pool so much that I only play it twice a year in the summer.

I really like billiards. I have been playing billiards for over 20 years. I believe that in both poker and billiards, the best chances to win are patient, focused and disciplined players.

Not sure what to make of the correlation. My degree of like between the two are wide spread. Could be said that, people who like poker like ping pong or darts. Can it be proved though?

It is an interesting game, I have played only online and not in real. It is a technical game but poker is a spiritual game.

I have been playing billiards for about 20 years. I started playing billiards before I started playing poker. But in my opinion, the factor of luck in billiards is not as important as in poker. Obviously, the basis for playing billiards is the skill and experience of the player.

I don't know why they go so well together but they do. Maybe it's because a lot of pool players like to bet on the game, and poker is a great game for betting.

I am definitely not the most experienced billiard player, I can say generally a beginner, but I love playing billiards! It is very interesting to play billiards with friends with a glass of beer and sincere conversations, of course this does not happen as often as we would like, but I am always happy about this event! Why so many poker players like to play billiards, I don't even know, I think it's just a coincidence! I wish you all good and good luck at the tables!
